AOE Ratio and skills it works with

So, I read that multishot allows me to hit multiple enemies per shot with +aoe ratio, am a bit disappointed to find it’s not now that I have my vubbe fighter gauntlets.

So my question here is what skills does aoe ratio affect?

Personally I’ve decided to go C2 Archer, C2 Sapper, C3 Wugushi

So preferably if these skills can be mentioned… I’d assume at least… Claymore trap? Feel like there has to be more than this though.

AOE ratio = maximum target that skill can hit

You need way more AoE Ratio for it to start behaving like true AoE.

AOE ratio = maximum target that skill can hit

I’m aware of what the stat does on skills, I’m more so inquiring how gear with this stat effects skills that don’t have a listed aoe ratio, like multishot in this example. ( Far as I can see, it just doesnt affect them at all, making the gloves less attractive aside the +10 str. )

I thought aoe ratio was 1:1, as in, claymore with aoe ratio 8 can hit 8 things, claymore with +aoe ratio from gauntlets can hit 10 things.

If the hidden mech on multishot is true, I’d imagine that means I can hit 3 enemies per shot, am I understanding this incorrectly?

Enemies have AoE defense ratio stat and every time you attack that stat is deducted from your AoE attack ratio. For example you have AoE attack ratio of 2, if enemy has AoE defense ratio of 2 or higher you will hit 1 target per hit only.

That is why skills that lower AoE defense ratio of enemies (Circling of hunter) are valuable.

I thought that was just aoe defense that simply decreases aoe damage received?

I wasn’t aware of any counter stat to aoe ratio as well, its pretty uncommon.

Guess I can try testing it some more on various mobs.

How common is aoe defense ratio in pve? I was just trying to multishot a couple floaty ghost mobs and it was like nope one at a time for you!

here explain better

Thanks, after doing some searching and finding

I have a better idea now, maybe was due to testing it on elites. This makes me happy, stat isn’t useless after all.

why is that clerics have AoE ratio of 3 and they can splash damage with normal attack, while if i equip vubbe gauntlets on my archer it does not do a thing?

Such an old thread.

Because +AoE attack ratio is only applied to skills/attacks with at least 1 (hidden) AoE attack ratio. Archer z-attack is targeted and has 0 ratio.
Multi shot has hidden ratio of 1, so vubbe fighter gauntlet will work.
