AoE Attack ratio on gear or just go for Falconeer?

Hey Guys,

Im gathering some info and equipment for my (not even born yet) cannoneer. I play cryochrono, but wanted to give this archer a try.

ATM I still havent decided if I go Archer2=>Ranger3=>Falconeer=>Cannon2 or Archer2=>Sapper3=>Falconeer=>Cannon2. Both have pros and cons.

Sapper would give me more AoE with broom trap, but ranger3 would give me 20% ranged dmg boost.

Anyway, Falconeer seems to be a MUST for cannoner to be able to trully hit multiple targets because of Circling. But what if I stack most AoE attack ratio?

Cannon (+2), headgear (+1), Vubbe gloves (+2) and maybe rings? I would achieve 5 AoE attack or more. Do I still need falconeer for circling? What makes circling so good and people priorize falconeer over equipment?

ALSO: I would like some advice about the ranger/sapper issue.

didnt they change something about attack ratio for cannoner on ktos? i believe you gain 200 % more aoe ratio, but dont profit from aoe ratio from gear anymore. You should read it up to clarify.

200% gain is from bazooka mode.
Without bazooka mode AAR is still the same.

Falconer or not depend on what do you plan to do wtih your cannoneer.

+3AAR Make you hit 1 more target(for most med size mob), while circling make you hit almost everything in10sec for about every 30sec.

Beware that

  • sapper dmg fall offat 280+content unless you got party that can improve your sapper dmg eg. Miko’s kagure wiz lethalgy etc.
    -ranger is good for current cannoneer in iToS, but ktos cannoneer promote cannoneer as artillery by bazooka, which take serveral sec to set up and steady aim might run out before you use alll skills.

Its pretty Sad my decisions have to be made around one skill for each class. Sapper’s broom trap, rangers steady (which has low duration) and falconer circling. I wish we had more useful skills to support cannoneer better lategame

If you’d like to take my vote, I’d go for sapper than ranger.
Sapper has better CC than ranger.
But be reminded that ranger shines early in the game and make your leveling faster.

Putting traps while you do your cannoner thing will greatly help you kill mobs more.
It just stand there and do your thing… Its a great addition than nothing.
I mean, its something you can do at the same time you do the other thing.

The 20% boost from Ranger might be worth it or may not depending on how you consider things.

But it depends on your gameplay. Though I promote sapper, I don’t want to take that class… Why? Because of the set up time it requires which contradicts to my current gameplay.

I like everything fast so perhaps if I were you, I would take Ranger… But since Cannoner is already slow in shooting targets, its a good add up to kill mobs than keep casting skills just to give decent damage.

Also, consider the possible damage output of both class and how it will blend on your Cannoner stats build.

it’s good as filler class

qs3 is a dead class for generally almost all. Unless you like the pvp.
The auto attack era is over.

And with KTOS bazooka artillery introduction it makes QS a 100% dead class for it.

And don’t forget that Ranger c3 got the most awesome costume in the game…

I have tried it before, but silute provides terrible ping for auto attackers. So :confused:

Aren’t you going to spam Bazooka attacks between your skills? Like…

Circling -> Smoke -> Bazooka -> spam skills

Then what?

Wouldn’t it be good to buff RS to boost Bazooka AAs to use between the low-cd cannon skills while C.Barrage and Blast are on cooldown?

cannon shot is every 5 second with 0.6-0.9 second cast time with 0.3-4 after delay. shoot down is 5 second with 0.7-0.9 second cast time with 0.2-0.3.

Cannon Blast has 2 charges.
Barrage has 2 charges.

There is also the new improved siege blast. with 7 second cool down and 1.5 second cast time.

Bazooka per AA hit is nearly 1.5 second on animation.
Bazooka AA damage + RS damage is still crap. esp on DPS.

Would you rather Bazooka with RS AA or deal a HUGE CHUNK of stationary burst of more than that.

To think that even later at C9 , 10 which will be the key focus of bazooka CASTING. :hugging: . Do you think of the future or the present.

Remember bazooka also increase your skill damage mod by 100% aka It’s a butt stroke in disguse.
With 0 Down time and just 1.9 second setup stationary time by C9. It’s pretty obvious where we are heading.

That’s what i am implying. IT doesn’t fit most classes, it’s a stand alone class. Any thing that fit Bazooka type Cannoner = Pre-Depolyment + DOTs.

For anything that is QOL> theres ranger barrage which scales to your xbow. For mobility case.

QS classes are dead. For most who like or have them even me Totally agree on this point. It only fits stuff like hakka or wugu 3 combo/ sappork falconer…

The rest no. Just no. Face it QS is a dead end class filler. WIth how auto attacks is working it will never reach skill rotation dps and especially latency plays a part.

Also a few major key reason why QS variant in most server are nearly extinct, Esp on Max out content

Yes, QS is going extinct.

Devs tried to introduce some Running shot + kneeling shot bandaid for QS cannoneer with [cannon skills are usable during kneeling shot].
No marble grand cross.
Need cafrisun set + manahas set forever.
Single target.
Ping dependant, partymember skills affect ping too.
Stone shot is meh at pvp.
Most players ignore pavise taunt ability.
Teardown on 290 dungeon orb is nice.
Mobility of running shot is gone with kneeling or bazooka mode.

PvE rainbow cannon isn’t bad. The a2 rang1 scou1 rogue1 falc1 cannon2 build). Have to use crossbow + cannon anyway.

@clima Falcon circling lv.5 is futureproof unless devs add mobs with a lot of AoE defence ratio.

Hmm sapper damage depends on main hand weapon + team debuffs.
