Anyone else feel overwhelmed? Is TOS a chore?

i need the daily dungeon full run even if its the low exp 1, coz i catch up to my level quest map faster than i think… (i tend to keep myself atleast 10level above map quest for easier run time. Being just 5level within, monster hit you quite hard…)

stuck for days unable to find decent dungeon full-run, now i resort to even do the daily exp card quest and monster kill count…

well… i wont call it a exp wall or hard to leveling, if anything, by your 5th lv200 char, team exp and token gives pretty good boost~

as many has voiced, Dungeon-Queue-Anywhere definitely would be good as i do my monster kill count or daily exp card… wonder why this havent been done yet

also, not sure since when but i realize, nowadays, player 10+ above dun level wont queue for full anymore, making slower matchup and longer clear time.
Need some reward/motivation to have high level queue for full run again…

ohya, in april may june, you can still find random people doing quest on map and ask for random party so can complete quest easier.

after the party stuck bug, eventhough its fixed now, you rarely able find random player doing quest and party up.

Complaining cause there’s too much to do, sounds like bullsh1t tbh. One thing is QQing cause FPS issues and exploits but ranting cause daily/party quests or saalus, is just retarded. If you want to be the best, you don’t need to play a meta build, but you need to invest time and money on your character. I’ve seen lots of QQ on swordsman sub-forum that you need to play Cata for PvP or Doppel for PvE but people don’t realize that you can play any combination of classes and be good at it if you work hard, that’s all MMO’s are about, working your ass off on your character.
Set up goals and compete with yourself, for a healthy game experience.

Quit rolling metas then eh?

I’m gonna put it like this…

Why do you think, botters put their bots on maps like, Miners village? Mobs there drop low level gear like 1 gear for every 5 kills, you get a lot of meaningless drops too, all you gotta do is sell everything you get. whenever my token is about to expire, I go back to low level maps for 1 or 2 days and I can get enough silver for a token.

If you have a character, that can kill prison district mobs fast, you can make a lot of silver there too.

P.S. Do a search on ToS database sites like TOSBASE, and search for mobs that drop recipes with a higher rate, go kill a lot of them, and sell the recipes to the NPC. There are a lot of ways to make silver in this game once you get the catch on how to do it properly

Who buys that gear on the market? Plus they only sell for like 2k each

And one of the best ways is to bot in dungeon instances, because nobody can see and report you.

I’ve been playing nearly every day since the game came out, whether it be for 30 minutes a day or a few hours. I’ve hit 280, team level 40, all of my main damage attributes are 80-100%, cleared all of Earth Tower, farmed the full armor set, saved up 500’000’000 EXP in cards, saved up 1’000’000 gem EXP, saved up 70’000’000 raw silver, saved up something like 90 Blessing Cubes. Every single day it’s Saalus, Uphill, 200 rushes, 145 full clears, occasionally PvP, and some progress towards another Scout to do 145 clears.

For the first time in a while the other day I pretty much skipped a day. Even though it takes me about 2 hours to do all of my usual stuff with the group and solo stuff, not including the 1 hour PvP session that I’m actually awake for at 7 PM EST.

I’m a bit burnt out. There’s nothing interesting to do. When R8 comes out, my group will probably hit 330 in the first day (many people should reach 320+ from just questing), and then we probably will convene for Saalus and Fantasy Library, and that’s it. It’ll be the same business as we are now. Solmiki Zone isn’t out yet so we can’t even race Korean players to clearing it, and even then they’ll probably receive it long before we do.

Raising alts is pretty pointless considering I only enjoy playing DPS and the sheer money sink that is attributes and amazing enemy power creep forces you to ensure at least one character is effective through R8. I like making oddball builds too, but the reality that a lot of the new content being designed to screw over most interesting magic builds is discouraging even then. Not being able to move Transcended equipment through team storage is also a major shame.

Making alts in itself is a chore, and it was maybe fun the first or second time, but questing is dreadful and so is map exploration. Thank goodness 8x tomes exist as a fine alternative to it. It’s so mundane to progress my second Scout that she’s done 4 zones of maps total and skipped all grinds so far, and is currently 180 since dungeon hopping and missions are much less boring.

Reaching this point though is inevitable in pretty much any MMO that doesn’t have an interesting raiding scene or more versatile PvP. Tree of Savior is no different. I still play every day, since I do enjoy Tree of Savior to some marginal degree, and there is a lot to do, even if it’s mostly repetitive chores. It’s simple busy activities, and if I don’t do them then I’m wasting days since I couldn’t ever be arsed to farm silver outside of dungeon clears and resource/dungeon sales.

To be honest, the most fun I have with Tree of Savior at the moment is playing vicariously through people that are still progressing to the endgame and still genuinely enjoy the experience and sense of discovery. You lose that as time goes on, I feel.

Playing Revelation on the Chinese server interim. It’s refreshing and balances out the weary feeling at 5 PM when I log into Tree of Savior each day.

hahaha. But Dungeons have limited mobs. But really, I always tought “hmm, why botters bot in these maps?”, then one day, I commited t farm the map for 2 hours, and oh boy! you can really make money farming in those maps.

But what worry me the most, is the new KToS update, you can sell untradable items, and gears. This might bring a huge bot infestation, and I mean HUUUUUGE

I won’t need to reroll anything. In my opinion most classes won’t need to reroll. What would be a class that you think will have to be rerolled? and what’s your main? (since you mentioned it)

In terms of OP skills, what you mentioned here are all for pvp pretty much, and like almost all other mmorpgs, pvp balancing is just too much work and almost impossible. I think people who want serious pvp actions should look for another game.

I do play tbl and enjoy for what it is (although mostly for points), with the mindset that it’s just totally imbalanced.

I think you just played too much while there just isn’t enough content for it.

From looking at your accomplishments, I assume you’ve spent 2k hours or more so far? I think that’s way above the average.

Like other mmorpgs, there’s always a competitiveness of being the richest or having the best gear or what not (or not missing any daily quotas). But once you put that down you can enjoy at your own pace which probably will make the game last longer for you.

I’ve stopped doing dungeons / missions / saalus for most or all of my characters when I don’t feel like it. It hinders my progress but I just want to do whatever I want so I can enjoy it lol, like leveling alts or farming weird things.

My main is a C3 Wizard C3 Thaum FF. Odd for sure, and, at the time of rolling him, wasn’t exactly the worst idea either. It was either take FF or Warlock, or gamble on R8 and pick Linker (which, at launch, R8 wasn’t exactly something on everyone’s mind, beside the fact that we had no idea what the classes would do or be).

C3 Wiz for Quickcast attribute.

C3 Thaum for Reversi and max values on my buffs, and for Swell Brain, a unique buff in itself. Quickcast pairs with Reversi to buff all the magic circles I steal. This tactic won myself many cubes in the betas and even here at the official launch. While entire parties were vying for a top spot, I’d almost always walk away with a world boss cube by myself.

FF because everyone else went Warlock and I wanted to be a unique snowflake. That, and far before R8 was ever even hinted at, there was talk of levitation being a strong possibility. Whether this was a leak, or based on lore, I don’t know… but the information proved accurate.

So… why do I want to abandon him?

C3 Thaum is a huge waste. Swell Brain lost the rank bonuses that it held in cbt2 so instead of 300 INT you get the flat 150 from max attribute. INT, aside from summons and scaling abilities, really only offers 1:1 MATK values, which means Swell Brain is not only inferior to a C1 Priest’s Blessing (which offers damage per-line and not mitigated by high MDEF values but rather Holy Resistance), but is even inferior to Swell Left which is in the same class tree but at C1 instead of C3, since even PATK based classes benefit from that where Swell Brain is a complete waste.

By the time they add proper scaling to the class it will have been too late. Look at some of those new accessories coming out for instance. 10x your elemental damage from a single accessory? You go from dealing 1k to 10k, a difference of 1000%. Meanwhile if you get a Swell Brain you gain a flat 150 MATK that is mitigated into something more like +50-100, even at our current stage in the game. C3 Thaum is a total bust and is best left to C2 Thaum where the class really shines (but of course still needs scaling lol)

So there is 1 circle I need to get rid of.

FF forces me into either rolling C2 FF or getting rid of the character and going Enchanter to park it. A single circle of FF is not beneficial and offers nothing that can’t be done better in another tree. FF + Transpose synergy is there, sure, but unless you are soloing, then you’ll have a healer nearby anyway. Levitate may be useful but if you’re forced into C2 FF then you’ll likely be forced into C3 of your R7 pick by the time R9 hits, or sit on two circles that could have otherwise been spent on something with more utility.

Now that we know the R8 classes it makes an R7 pick of FF a waste on this character, so there is another circle gone. And nobody can always just know in advance to pick a utility filler… even now we have a lot of people planning for C2 of their R7 classes: how do they know that C3 won’t be bust? That C2 of an R8 wouldn’t be better? That a new R9 wouldn’t fit the idea they had for the character much more smoothly? They’ll pick what they can at the time and then, if they want something later at a different release, have to roll a new character and lose a ton of investment in that original character via attributes, transcendence, time, etc.

The original character concept of using C3 Wizard to buff every tile I steal pairs much better with sage. Transpose, run in, Reversi, make the AOE’s larger, etc. Sounds viable for GvG where circles are everywhere… and I could still buff mates with Missile Hole etc as well. If I were to take sage though at R8 it means that I’d have a completely and utterly wasted circle in FF within my tree, which is unacceptable to me. I either have to roll again and make him an Enchanter or I have to take FF2 because any other election will basically forfeit an entire circle (two, if you count C3 Thaum in its current state).

His primary role currently is GvG and, I’ve found, that is one aspect of the game that is still exciting. If I could then I’d roll him into something more GvG viable. I have several different builds I’d do that would retain C2 Thaum but, at this point, certainly would not waste circles in C3 Thaum or FF. So he’s very much R.I.P. and the only thing that could save him is some miracle skill @C3 FF or a revamp of C3 Thaum (via Swell Brain or another skill in the circle) and scaling.

Sorry for the book.

@Veritas You, sir, are much more invested than I am. Most of the time I am logged in I end up theory crafting or “playing around” more than actually hunkering down and getting things done. I like to test things out and enjoy the little things I find while progressing a build. I have 2500+ hours and it sounds like you have as much or more (or simply are much more efficient! lol)

I think though, however we got here, that I’m at a similar spot as you… torn between loving the game and not wanting to waste a day by skipping… and between being burnt out to some degree.

I spend roughly 10x more time in Discord for TOS, TOS databases, the Forums, etc than I actually do in-game these last few weeks. It’s still exciting to learn about… and still very much uninteresting to actually play lol For me I feel that’s due to knowing I have to lose everything and start fresh… and not for the first time. At this point with my odd collection of characters, I could likely start a new account from scratch and it wouldn’t have much of a difference of impact. Aside from the accumulated costumes and a little bit of silver to toss around, there is nothing I’d lose. All the transcendence items, attributes, achievements, time invested… if I have to roll a new main I basically have to say goodbye to all of that anyway yeah? lol

I didnt read every single thing, but about the thauma buffs.

Blessing might be better for auto attacks, but on skills the flat MATK from swell buffs probably add more. Some skills have things like 400% modifiers on the skills. This means 4x the benefit on the flat matk. If your attributes are maxed at 100% that means double benefit. With multihits it deals this damage on every hit.

As for the accessories that enhance damaga, this means your swell buffs are enhanced by the same amount or more. Blessing is true flat damage and the only thing it has over swell is on autoattacks with multiple hits that swell doesnt benefit.

I think swell brain is only good for use with transpose. 150 extra con or 75/75. Even if you use it for the extra int, this is still extra damage that scales like i mentioned before.

That said i think the buffs should scale better and have made suggestions about it. They should give additional % matk/patk. The class is known for their buffs so they should be good buffs.

Like what @Gringe said, that 150 INT should also be scaled by whatever item that 10x it.

It sounds like everything you’re saying for Thaum is the same at this point, regardless what R8 offers.

In terms of FF, all the things you described are also already like that in the current game. Basically it feels like you’re saying FF is underwhelming so you’re hoping FF C2 will make it worth it.

I’m not saying they’re balanced or having no problems, but I don’t see how R8 changes much of what your current character can or cannot do.

Personally I always wanted to make a thaum3 just for the swell brain. I don’t care if it does nothing, all I want is the bigger head. You don’t see real damage numbers but it makes players feel good and they perform better that way.

This is what I feel on MMORPGs I have played tbh. What I don’t like tho is how brutal the transcendence system is especially to new players and people who want to rolll many alts. I feel very much burnt out as well.

Thats exactly what I said some time ago. And the No-Reset-Whiteknights came out and bashed it with the argument that one should plan ahead and resets ruin the game. For your info: SPR Krivis already got IMC’ed quite hard.

That’s all about games to be honest. If you want to be pro on Dota2 and get that juicy 9k mmr, you must play ranked everyday. Same on Counter Strike or any game you want to be competitive. The thing is, on all these kind of MMO’s the end content is generally PvP, wars between guilds and stuff, call it WoE or any kind of event, heck MMO’s like TIbia you used to war to get the server for your guild, old stuff(2001-2008).
ToS after fixing it’s shitty FPS optimization, needs a bloodthirsty PvP, something to make worth those 3,000+ hrs spent on the game. And some kind of event that requires the entire server to kill an ultimate boss, for example. Game is way too anti-social, devs need to trigger events to work as a community in order to succeed.

not really, they just fixed the bug. u could get negative crit resist, now u can only make monsters crit resist goes to 0 and thats still a lot

also theres lvl 5 daino, that is great
and lvl 5 aukuras (it has a hiden efect, lvl 5 reduces like 35-40% of enemies accuracy)

aurukas + monstrance + swordsman/archer + zalciai = super dodge + super crit xD

Aukuras huh…

Never used it for the accuracy debuff itself, ever…

Nice fire resistance buff for certain bosses. Can aggro many ground mobs. Another debuff for Incineration. But lower accuracy? Never used it for that purpose. Even using it in combination with regeneration buffs from Paladin and Squire is a more obvious purpose.

Aukuras has 2 minute CD, useless skill for aggro or incineration debuff.
