Anyone else Excited about maintenance tonight?

I know there isn’t anything discussed or planned as far as I know but I’m hoping that they been hard at work getting ready to release a new patch tonight here in about 4 hours?

Hoping they at least fix Party system and dungeons. Market would be nice too if they stayed up longer than 3-4 hours.

Or is everyone pretty much let down at this point and just going to finish riding out the beta? Just wondering where people stand…

I’ll ride out the beta of course, but I’ve got my bug list getting pretttttty big at the moment.

tbh, I’m more scared than excited. Im pretty sure you’ve met the “IPF”, well he was born just right after the previous scheduled maintenance. :disappointed:

u guys cant connect to server? maintenance?

I wouldnt say its let down yet, it all depends on what they are going to do to fix the major problems:

1.) Linear Progression - Honestly to fix this issue they will have to rework the maps. Why do i have to run in a straight line in each map? Cmon, do it like how RO had their maps and make about 70-100% of the map explorable, not just narrow paths to a field to another narrow path. You know who else had this problem? FFXIII

2.) MUH GRIND - Grinds occur when players have nothing to do for their level. Questing is one alternative, but you only get so much of that. What else is there? Item farming, waiting a few hours for a dungeon boss, dungeons with 5x caps and socializing. We need more interactive options to help level up as well. Add in a battleground arena to pass the time or hold bi-daily events like defending a town or attacking a monster village.

Once these two things are addressed this game will blossom, content takes time so I don’t care if they stop the process to fix these core mechanics of the game. With how the game is set up physics wise there is MUCH POTENTIAL to this game, it just depends on how good their programmers / thinkers are.

When they will post about the maintenance?

I’m hoping ASAP, but I haven’t even heard of anything as of yet. I just know that maintenance is from 1AM to 5AM EST.

@Malpercio I do agree with you on some points. I actually like grinding in this game, but I don’t believe it should be as a fill gap to hit the next line of quests. There needs to be better ways to get exp besides grind and quests. Even some Dailies would be nice. I don’t though, something is needed.

I’m concerned about stealth changes, really. If we get some negative change that was announced in the patch notes then fine, I’ll deal with it and give my feedback as normal, but if we get some negative change that was snuck in stealth-like and wasn’t in the notes, I’ll act like it’s a bug that warrants some sort of hotfix.

I’d like to see something done about the monster exp at higher levels; lower levels is perfect but it seems like the farther you go the worse the problem gets. Linear exp rewards don’t work in a game with exponentially increasing exp requirements, I think.

they need to put some lvl 9 cards replacing some lvl 8, gg any problem with leveling after past 160

Hope they buff archers -.-

Spoiler:

There is no maintenance. XD I just know they are going to forget about it.

Solving linear pathing is an extremely bad idea. Garbage new content/development resources cost ratio. Newer content needs to compliment existing content in order to have a good cost/reward ratio on dev.

@Senpaikunchanperson Lol as much as I would hate that… It honestly wouldn’t surprise me at this point Hahaha.

Let’s hope they remember the maintenance!

The only reason it feels linear is because i dont have the freedom to go to two points right next to each other cause of the map layout. That creates a huge feel of linear progression

yeah ive no complaint on grinding. I did for vubbe fighter gloves and I was overleveled until 100.

Have you tried the instanced dungeons?

All mmos/rpgs have effectively linear progression.it would take less resources to make the currently linear progression include meaningful build choices via balance than it would be to wipe the entire map.

I played ragnarok recently and i’m not feeling the amazing open world some people are talking about.

never said to wipe the map

They created these maps… meaning they can edit these maps. Connect the areas that are only accessible by one entrance and one exist. Right now they want their game to succeed and guess what, if you dun goof’d the first time you need to go back to the core mechanics and fix those problems before pushing it out.

If they push it out as is i guarantee you they wasted a golden opportunity for some epic game with a high playerbase. I know people say WoW isn’t what it used to be, but because its core mechanics are well instituted players go back every content release.

You can say you cant compare this game to WoW but i’m not comparing it to WoW, im comparing it to how their devs at blizzard implemented addictive and fun features as the core mechanics for the game. It’s what keeps people coming back honestly

People go back to wow because it has advertising campaigns and adds new contebt often. The game itself is not good at anything; pve is mindless and the pvp is the same fotm ■■■■ as any mmo but with the dirt pushed around occasionaly to make ot look like balance.

The map wasnt made using q conventional sdk. It was made using art and then the walls where added in later, so a map overhual would be extremely innefficient.

You want to be able to walk down a seperate grass path to the same objective. There is no point in free roaming unless you have things that compliment it, such as an eve economy, and that takes up so much of the games bandwidth that the combat sucks.

well so many bug ive seen even i just join from 2nd close beta, this ipf problem is just too bad, it some name monster even i see doesnt right, i cant see name from help button. change resolution dc too. well i better appreciate for do not rush beta if still many bugs. well i know every crew try hard, Well this is my 1st time the theme colors actually fresh my eyes ofc. cant w8 to play this game with all bug fixed.

I actually used to work for some gaming companies, you’d be surprised how often some of the employees get drunk and work or come in high. The atmosphere is great but the work ethic isnt top notch.

Yeah once they get the bugs fixed and some kinks worked out, it will be pretty good. Can you imagine once they implement all the content they want to? There are areas they could improve in, but its understandable since you cant expect 100% of every aspect coming from a game.

PvP is going to be really fun IF they go about it properly.
