I would be careful not to mistake meta norms as classes being without potential.
And the other class complaint seems to be why don’t we approach resource systems the same way as Blizzard. Or play like FFXIV… rotating cooldowns and timers non-stop. Which don’t get me wrong FFXIV has outstanding design. They’ve managed to create a truly massive skill ceiling for a game that is relatively slow paced(outside of dodging red circles and lines). But it has one of the most ridiculous learning curves for it. And much more importantly! They only get away with making the design with their rotations so tight because there is no real multi-classing.
There is a right set of subjob skills in FFXIV for the class you play and you never look back. Each class is a specifically tailored experience. You can’t replicate something that tightly designed in a multi-class system.
Instead you do what ToS has done well honestly right for their systems. Which is create a diverse pairings of synergies across ranks and classes. And the game is only going to improve on that front as it’s given more time to balance and rework classes that need it.
