Anyone buying a new PC? :)

G3258 would do a trick with a decent video card. :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s a beastly looking list you got going there! Have you thought about going for the 980ti?

Its too late, we all know your true nature now! ^^

Okay since there are many pc enthusiasts here, I might as well go ahead and ask for some advice :smyum:. I haven’t used a desktop for like 8 years and now that my current asus laptop can’t satisfy my gaming needs anymore, I’m planning to build a PC around feb 2016. I’ve been doing research and find that small, compact pc case is a thing now . So I want to build a mini itx case and here are the parts I chose:

I don’t intend to overclock or anything, and I don’t play any new demanding games, just ToS and some ps3 ports on steam. I have extra external storage and my laptop so I inky need 250gb of SSD. I’m having a hard time choosing a 22"-23" monitor with IPS display (since I have limited space ), so any suggestion would be appreciated.
Also note that some parts above may not be good but those are parts I can find in my country atm

Pretty decent build, but if you have a budget atleast get a gtx 970 for the SSD I would suggest get the 128/120GB version OS only then get a 1TB HDD Western Digital.

The only thing that I would change there is the video card get atleast GTX 960+ and up sir.

Tip: Buil an PC yourself. Or let a custom one be built.

It’s cheaper. Stronger. Faster. Better.
Then anything eqvilant you could buy.

I made myself an 2k euro pc 3 years ago.
It’s still top notch and will keep being so for another 5 or so years.

But you wont need all that power for this game…
And you need atleast a minimum amount of knwoeldege about pc … before ordering and stuff.

I’d change the:

  • processor
  • graphics card
    Add:
  • keyboard
  • Mouse
  • Some form of sound system
    Make sure:
  • The components actually fit in a mini tower

Thanks for your opinion . As stated above, I have extra external storage lying around and my laptop still has like 500Gb unused so buying more HDD would be a waste, I think. And this build is mainly for gaming so I think a 120/240Gb SSD will be sufficient .
Regarding the GPU choice, gtx 970 is quite expensive (twice as much as the gtx 950 :scream:) plus I’m not interested in playing any modern, graphic-demanding games so I left that out. Gtx 950 is the latest GPU and is 40$ cheaper than gtx 960 (based on the prices here in my country), and its performance is not bad comparing to gtx 960 . I’ll consider picking the gtx 960 if I can save up some more :smile_cat:

If you’re tight on budget - and you will not find me saying this often - check some budget graphic cards comparisons between nvidia and amd.

Thank you , I’ve heard people saying AMD GPU is the best bang for your buck, but I’d rather put my trust in Nvidia . Guess I’ll save up some more for a gtx 960 then.
And one more thing, do I need a water cooler if I don’t intend to overclock? I’m considering picking up a Corsair H60…

They are better for the longevity of your card(s). I HIGHLY recommend saving up for a 980Ti to future proof your build. They don’t cost that far apart…(only about $450 USD) and you can always add another one later.

Well sir getting a 980ti is not a joke it’s quite expensive and as per Pomez he did mentioned only playing low graphic games so gtx 960 to 970 is good enough.

I get that. My point is for him to be more future-conscious and have some foresight as well as save money in the long run due to the longevity of that card.

Also $600 is really not a lot for a card that will last him for at least 2 years.

Sir getting a 980ti would not really save you money.

I’ve been building rigs for my friends and clients for a long time now some of them still using those amd fx 6300 with r9 270x without any problems.

Some of them build a apu builds like a8 and a10 cpus and they’re still loving those set up as of right now.

Pomex mentioned the games that he’s into and those are not cpu intensive game even a g3258 and gtx 960 would run tos even gta v perfectly fine.

But I get your point bro if I have the money why not get 980ti.

ready to rock this game with my new skylake and 980ti

yeah!!!
