You know I got build examples in post 2/3 or something right? to lazy to count atm.
@solidchris:
Wolfy uses trans8, that’s probably the main reason. (I think you got higher spr.)
And keep in mind that owls matk first goes through the def calculations and then it’s dmg gets multiplied. So having to deal with a 50% dmg reduction vs a 30% dmg reduction will be a huge factor. (I want the old dmg formula back tbh.)
@Kannushi:
A, you’re way off in terms of most optimal builds imo.
B, Trying to make such a dps or performance chart kind of defeats the purpose atm.
Most clerics builds simply struggle with being truly all-around purpose builds and generally have a few niche’s in which they perform best.
That being said you’d also have to account for any update changing the meta around, and you’d need a good understanding of items, cleric skills and general mechanics to properly pull it off.
(For an example, the 22 nov ktos patch had some potentially big changes that I still can’t fully predict how they will affect the game. Esp Froster Lord and the shield cards.)
So I’ll try and break down the class list of niches and restrictions first, I’ll need to properly explain those anyway:
Spr Bokor aka Zombie builds:
- Since you need kills to spawn them they don’t work well in PvP or vs Bosses in general.
- Their health and def are just lacking atm, so they’re not ideal for high-end content regardless.
- Pretty good for regular PvE, but struggle with Challenge Modes due to the def/dmg increases on mobs.
Turn Undead Conversion spr themed builds:
- Needs mobs to convert first, so of no use in PvP.
- Even worse health and def scaling, or just far higher agro, means they die even faster.
- Either has a vastly reduced chance of working vs special mobs or none at all, so of no use in ET/Dungeons/high end content.
- The exp/item removal from converted mobs make it also rather wasteful for regular PvE.
Spr based Diev3/Miko themed builds:
- Owls are immobile, cannot change direction and need time to ramp up alongside miko’s clap. Aka it’s a bunker down type playstyle.
- Weak to specific object removal skills, but those are incredibly rare anyway.
- They take 1 dmg per hit and can get to 140 health at skill lvl 10, and since heal works on them they can survive a ton of dmg.
- Essentially they’re great for huge amounts of mobs, like ET mob Floors and Challenge Mode. And they have a bit of a niche as aoe dmg turrets for PvP.
- A ton of support to boot as well.
Spr based Zealots:
- Blind Faith is one of our best single target dmg skills period, and they still get fi+f combo to boot.
- It ignores defenses, so vs the 330 raid boss it’s by default the best dmg option. (just watch out for reflects)
- It is very reliant on buffs and debuffs so it has a few counters in PvP, but not that many.
- Its AoE dmg is not as good as it’s lack of patk will mean it has a higher def dmg reduction to deal with.
Str based Zealot:
- Fanatic Illusion is our best AoE dmg skill atm, and works well with high str to boot.
- Can’t benefit as much from Blind Faith as the sp cost and lack of sp will make it hit like a wet noodle.
- That’s all …
(Paladin) Inquisitor builds:
- Offensively it’s sole niche is in PvP imo since it has some pretty good spike dmg and utility. (silence, aoe extender).
- Paladin is extremely support oriented if you picked it, and quite good at it tbh.
Monk:
- See zealot2 builds, monk1 is an alright filler for both variants but other monk builds can’t compete.
–
Int based builds:
Plague Doctor builds:
- It’s pretty good all round tbh, just gotta make sure you aim and time incin/bds right.
- Damage isn’t that amazing vs bosses, but it could be worse.
Druid:
- Bit of a niche in PvP due to Telepath, but that’s about it.
Krivis/Sadhu/Bokor/Miko or other generic AoE focused spell builds:
- Really not ideal for PvP, these circles are just to easily avoid and/or run out of.
- Only bokor may have enough dmg to solo Challenge Modes, but others will struggle.
- Bokor isn’t ideal vs bosses since you can’t always get the 8 zombies per damballa without mobs to kill, and bosses can kill zombies quite quickly.
- Other AoE builds just don’t really have the dmg needed to shine vs world bosses, but can solo regular 1m hp ish bosses just fine.
Cleric3 aka heal bomb:
- Has a niche as spike dmg vs bosses due to heal hitting twice while under the effects of blessing, and is incredibly cheap rank wise to boot. Don’t underestimate it.
Kabbalist:
- Literally only works well with an organized team (or no team at all) since you need to use double chance and gevurah on high dmg hits for kabba to have an effect.
AA builds:
- They have a niche vs Challenge Modes since Inquis Flames allows them to attack a ton of mobs at once, assuming they can kill quickly enough to get this trick working.
- I’m not sure their dmg actually scales high enough to compete for world boss dmg spots tbh, a lot of their dmg comes from bonus/additional dmg type effects and don’t scale as well with a godly weapon.
- They’re not that bad for ET, on mob floors at least. But since they are melee only and depend on inquis flames a lot they aren’t as ideal there either.
- Would be nice in pvp if auto attacks weren’t so easy to avoid… Oh well.
Think that’s about it.
Suffice to say, the amount of builds that can compete in the same niche is quite small so there isn’t a lot of choice tbh.
Which is kind of good imo, since it means more builds will shine in their own right.
If you want a truly allround build I’d suggest looking into a kriv3/zealot2 variant, that’s the one that should be pretty darn strong vs any scenario.
