That won’t be a problem when AMD CPUs get the same threading technology as Intel with the Zen release. Its watt usage will also drop and it will still have the same AMD Price point you’re used to. The threading technology is called “SMT,” and it isn’t Intel’s sole property, hence why AMD is switching to it. You will however have to man up and change your motherboard to AM4 though for the Zen line.
Fun fact for people though, both Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 are 64-bit / multi-core compatible, which is why they work fine on AMD CPUs.
In other news, Final Fantasy XIV works at 55-60 FPS average on my system, even though both the CPU and GPU are AMD, and I’m using maximum DX11 settings for it.
