[After PATCH] Crit rate equipment guide

So let’s try that with DEX. I’m assuming you are using 400 STR with just the basic per point value of 2 atk. So let’s use 400 DEX with per point value of 5c.atk.

DEX
(2000atk x 1.5) + (400 x 5c.atk)
3000 + 2000
5000 c.atk

STR
(2000atk + (400 x 2atk)) x 1.5
2800 x 1.5
4200


So placing them side by side
400STR: …~0.515white
400DEX: …~0.437white


dps = non-crit% x white + crit% x yellow

So what crit rate will make these equal


Now let’s try double gear atk 4000
DEX
A normal would be
4000
~0.605

(4000atk x 1.5) + (400 x 5c.atk)
6000 + 2000
8000 c.atk

STR
4000atk + (400 x 2atk)
4800
~0.654

(4000atk + (400 x 2atk)) x 1.5
4800 x 1.5
7200 c.atk


400STR: …~0.654white
400DEX: …~0.605white

About 320 points since Str is essentially 2.5 atk/point if you count the 10 point bonus (I’m just doing the invested stat, ignoring gears)

Also, to my knowledge crit does not increases your log calculation’s attack.
So your 2000 attack vs 1000 defense would be 0.437 regardless of crit.

Interesting. So I just need to get way higher gear atk to lower the c.rate required to “balance off” STR vs DEX. This doesn’t take into consideration the aspd from DEX though.

So I’m guessing the trend will be to get as much raw gear atk as possible.

after read all those post, i sense that is not worth invest on critical, with current stats its hard to get 600-750 critical rate, but now that DEX wont give us critical rate… we only can get it from equipment so… a fencer only can get 400-500 (whiout balestra) maybe? and with the current formula, that means from 100 hit u only get 30-20 critical hits…

how to use it? i cant write on it.

That’s not true. As I thought, the higher the attack, the more relevant criticals are, even with 30% critical chance and 0 critical attack:

im a little lose… how can i see o where can i see the skill factor? and… yeah surely 30% critical rate is good but i think is hard to get it… but now im thinking… is worth get leather armor? since the + on leather are critical rate? or its better get plate armor?. (im fencer btw) i think im gonna do the inverse build. 50 DEX, rest STR. 7 Ellaganos 1 Glassmole, Sissel bangle x2, but change off hand weapon gem to green. main hand yellow. there are many stuff to test since all will be subjected to changes.

It returns wrong values mate, a guildy just linked it to me and you should revise the formulas I’d say.

If I enter 1000 P.Atk, 50% Crit Chance and 100% Skill Factor it returns me a 500 value, whereas it should be a 1250 with those values filed in.

Anyway, I just made my own sheet for guildies and wanted to share it here as well, it should be 100% accurate. Funny thing is I don’t even use Swordies/Archers :smiley:

The skill factor for each skill can currently be found only on https://tos-kr.neet.tv/ (for example: https://tos-kr.neet.tv/skills/11102).

To reach 30% critical chance against end game mobs (that have 166 critical resist according to @LunarRabbit), you need around 456 critical rate, which is not that hard considering that you get 165 from leveling to 330.

For anyone interested, the attack values where critical (without critical attack) becomes more effective than the same attack + 3x level 7 red gem are:

how about make comparison using same stat and 2x lv7 red gem/yellow gem/green gem?

Edit: I set the attack too high.

Can you see what happens as you increase gear atk values when comparing DEX and STR? As @rofldat pointed out to me, STR will influence the damage factor while DEX does not.

oh right, forgot to mention, those gem value are for main weapon, not offhand. crit rate use 349 as a base value (excluding green gem), from lv 330, full leather 315 HG set and 2x sissel

STR adds to damage, Dex adds critical attack, but I don’t have data for those since I’m not playing on ktos and I probably missed them if they were posted somewhere (aka, how much damage is added for each point of STR & how much critical attack is added for each point of DEX).
I require that data to perform a comparison.

10 Points in STR is 25 str
10 points in DEX is 50 crit.

The breakdown is

2 STR per point with the 10th point giving an additional +5 points.
(so going from 9 to 10 STR will actually give 7 more points of STR in total).

Dex is 4 points of Crit attack. with the 10th point giving you an additional +10 points (so going from 9 to 10 DEX will actually give you 14 more points of Dex in total).

EG. 5 dex = 20
10 dex = 50.
15 dex = 70
20 dex = 100.
