[After PATCH] Crit rate equipment guide

last request as a rogue, will the result change if you add bonus +40%crit chance to the equation?

Can you do the same simulation with 450 critical rate as the initial value?

Thats for @Tiaaa:
2x Red Gems:

@myself: I don’t have a rogue, I need to check how that 40% is added (is CRATE * 1.4?)

nope
a flat +40%
so for red and yellow gem, your final crit chance will be 22+40= 62.77%
and for green gem your final crit chance will be 29+40=69.83%

Ktest…

Someone finna tell me how Crit attack applies. I must not be paying attention.
141 attack
866 crit attack.
Chupa’s - 29 def. 166 damage dealt. 1272 Crits
Popolions - 30 DEF. 163 damage dealt. 1253 Crits

Thanks for the info (thanks to @Delcas too, I’ll add that later and run simulations that @c2gaming.seetoo asked).

Thank you very much sire! Now i can enter deep sleep after so many sleepless night. Red gem FTW!

There is a 25% bonus applied to the damage in that video (it’s unclear how bonus damage is applied). Also, it is unclear what formula is going to use IMC.
They keep showing this for our version:

damage = (% increase factor) x attack x min {1, log10 ((attack / (defense + 1))^0.8 + 1)} + (+ increase)

but then they apply this to their own tables:

damage = (% increase factor) x attack x min {1, log10 ((attack / (defense + 1))^0.9 + 1)} + (+ increase)

(table and formula from https://treeofsavior.com/news/?n=955)

I fixed my own now. If you look back at the error you’d probably have a good laugh.

I’m more of History guy…

@TheAlleyCats Thanks for the tests. Crit is definitely looking out classed.

seeing as at 62% crit chance, red gem average dps 3540 and yellow gem average dps is 3538, maybe we were almost reaching the threshold X crit chance where yellow gem give more benefit than red gem?

Im aware of the 25%.
Still wondering how Crit attack is added.

The ktos release patch notes (when it got transfered from just ktest) listed it as 0.9, so it was an error on the iToS side of things; At least they use the right version in their tables.

it says “Error” at the end of the formula. when i try to copy to another spreadsheet…

Thrust has a skill factor of: 139 + ([Skill Level] - 1) × 7.6 (https://tos-kr.neet.tv/skills/10001), without the 25% bonus I obtain coherent results:

It could be, I’ll check it. Take into account that what I run is a full simulation, so criticals landed (Total Crits) may differ between each run, same goes for attack damage when min and max are different.

Multiply it by 1.25 and you’ll see the calculations are off. I ran them in my spread as well.

This is pretty much Tree of Savior in a nutshell. Also one of the reasons that i quit.

I remember when people were bitching about wizards not being able to crit with magic, then I got to leather mobs in level 300 maps with my not-rerolled-to-full-DEX-yet swordsman and saw my 90% miss rate and thought “Yeah okay I’d trade crits for not experiencing this ■■■■ ever again”.

Yeah, maybe there is something missing in the formula they gave to us?

I reversed the:

Damage prior bonus = 163 / 1.25 = 130.4
log10((141 / (30+1)) ^ 0.9 + 1) = 0.69099781504
attack+skill factor = 130.4 / 0.69099781504 = 188.71260829160
attack = 188.71260829160 / 1.39 = 135.76446639683

I still believe investing into DEX is a lot more beneficial for a lot of builds, as it increases Evasion,Block Penetration,Critical damage and ASPD.

Especially Cleric Classes like Monk and Sadhu will greatly benefit from investing into DEX because of the Evasion&ASPD boost that affects Double Punch&OOB autoattacks.
Also, we must not forget that ASPD now affects the cast animation of many physical damage skills, allowing you to use them more quickly, thus fitting more damage into your rotation [if you got enough skills to spam].

More skills= more possible crits and also more critdamage from said skills.
But as I stated above,that’s very situational, depending on your build and equipment.

I believe it’s best to just build critrate to 30-40% and get decent gear/stats to have better base values for attack/critdamage/ASPD;
that way, you will be performing great even if the enemies have higher crit resistance…
