After almost 700 hours of game play I’m bored. The game has died for a lot of players who play now, left or are leaving, but it can make a complete turn around, I know. The game needs more substance and rewards when you do something well in it or for a long time. The way damage is in the game needs to be worked on. I would like to see official plans for the future, not just what I read from some post on reddit about what happened on KTOS. I’ll just type some of my thoughts and probably won’t look back at this game until Team Battle League is up and running.
I was excited about Tree of Savior when I heard about it like a lot of other players. A lot of people think Tree of Savior was hyped solely because of RO, I never played Ragnarok Online, never will(hate when people even compare the two games to the extent that they do). I started Tree of Savior because of how it looks and the skills and features they said would be in the game.
I’m mostly into PvP, Boss Hunting and getting cool items that take time/skill to get. I also love melee damage type classes. (Yeah… no wonder I’m bored on Tree of Savior right now) The substance is lacking because enemies in main quests feel so random at times. A lot of people enjoy getting into story lines, but in this game it’s a bit lacking. There isn’t much motivation to try and be the best on your server.
From what I’ve seen and experienced so far Wizards and most Archer or Cleric classes are better than Swordsman PvE wise by a HUGE margin. PVP wise it’s a bit better, but still really bad for Swordsman. I heard thing are being worked on in KTOS to balance it out more but it’s not enough for this version. To just hear about that version while most of the changes that we see on our own is cosmetic or something no one cares about (loading screens). It feels like it’s adding insult to injury seeing little messages about “Team Battle League”, on a loading screen that’s taking forever, when its not even in the game right now and hasn’t been mentioned much officially.
Magic damage feels too good compared to Physical damage because dodge and block. Ranged and ground skills feel better than melee because of kiting. Leaving swordsman with all the lower end (physical/melee). Swordsman has more HP but that doesn’t matter much, you’ll still be hit more often and have to use more attacks to kill something/someone due to low damage. It’s SO boring to kill a monster as a swordsman right now. Thinking about it, swordsmen are the last to hit the monsters in most situations, have some of the lowest damages, and on top of that you have to stand there taking damage from every type of monster. Losing durability on your gear faster than anyone else and repairing more since kiting isn’t a really good option.
The Developer section needs to be updated more frequently in my opinion. Seeing official word from the company on the main site about what they are doing brings so much hope to players. People who were about to leave held on even longer, just seeing posts on forum from the creator(s). This part is probably one of the biggest things for a lot of people, I know it is for me. A lot of us feel like we’re apart of the game when the Devs respond more.
