ANYWHO, anyone claiming it’s certain addons are unfair (like the exp viewer…for some reason) need to grow a brain. It shows you how much exp something gives which information that is openly available on TOSBase, and all it helps a player do is choose not to stay in an area or how many of which mob they’ll need to kill to level up or complete their hunting book (which, btw, is also in the game).

Games that don’t allow addons for basic tasks are selling themselves short, and players who don’t use them are doing the same.

If it helps, it appears to happen most often when I’m in the “All” tab when either system messages are generated or I receive a whisper from an ongoing conversation (new whispers pull you to the whisper pane but ongoing keep you in “All”).

From what I’ve seen when it happens there seems to be a padding issue between messages. I’ll start to get larger and larger gaps between messages instead of a static padding between displayed messages. And then ■■■■ hits the fan quick-style XD

Does not appear dependent of the presence of the time stamp (seen in screenshots) but I cannot confirm if changing the text size had anything to do with it or not. (side note on a minor bug: changing text size does not update the displayed number on the slider in the /lkc setting until after closing and reopening the pane)

Um, how do I use this? I downloaded the release and extract to the release folder of TOS, but nothing loaded?

I extracted the file to my tree of savior directory but nothing happened in game? I have exp viewer and other map fog addons though so it might be interfaring. Is there any confirmation in game that LKchat is acive?

I want to ask. I haven’t tried this addon yet, but I have this very annoying problem with regular chat:


Also it is very often that messages shown in a bit different order than they comes, I guess it is something related to timestamps too. E.g. messages 1 and 2 shown and after that message 3 comes, but it is shown in order of 1 3 2.

I believe the correct approach here is to show messages in order that they come to client. Is it how it works in addon or it is the same as in game? (based on timestamps)

Correct, the addon sorts by order received from the client’s API.

You might want to include some instructions on how to get this working in the OP.

I say this because I, personally, cannot figure out how (aside from sticking it in the same place the other addons go).

The zip file should be extracted in the Tree of Savior folder with the files going into /patch/ not /addon/.

e: Added an install section.

I still can’t get it to work.

I noticed that every time I exit the game to try and figure out what’s wrong, it would appear that the game has completely replaced the contents of the patch folder (so the file in your download is removed).

What am I doing wrong? :frowning:

When you look in /patch/ is the file named ⚗lkchat.ipf or lkchat.ipf?
If its not ⚗lkchat, try renaming the file to ⚗lkchat.ipf.

So yeah, this worked. When I got your file from the download is was named “#U2697lkchat.ipf”.

Renaming it with that funny symbol fixed things.

Not sure I understand how that all works out but oh well, fantastic addon nonetheless, hehe. ^_^;

So far only winrar will allow extracting the UTF symbol in the file name. Maybe you can just rename it for easier use?

So it appears that while the addon actually works now when applied with the proper name, it still gets overwritten and deleted/replaced every time I relog, meaning I’d have to paste it in every time to experience the benefits of the addon.

Something I’m missing?

hi @LemonKing and @Zipzo

i was having the same pb sinc the 1st version, and didnt get time to look at it until today.

the 1st character was the problem, i dont use the usual explorer of windows and a usal extractor, i’m using “servant salamander” who got problem with foreign signs. and who got a self extractor plugin.

was getting #U2697lkchat.ipf and the file disapear when launcher patch.

just add in install notice a note to use the native explorer, and dunno for extractor choice but native widows extractor was good with the sign, work well now thx for your job! :slight_smile:
