Accounts banned for UI addon use

IMC bans more players than bots. I’m fine with them mass banning a lot of players in 1 wave IF those players really deserved it meanwhile they just ban like 40-60 bots per server.

I see the same bots everyday on the map that I’m grinding on and they have been reported for several weeks now and still nothing.

As for those who dwell in the wrong side, beware, our ever-vigilant eyes will find you and our Hammer of Justice hungers!"

Nice to know that this is all a joke to you.

Unbanned account so no salt here. Properly coding your api file would be a hilariously easy thing to do but who are we kidding. Also common sense? on the internet? Gimme a break. But instead we get 6K ban wipe. is that common sense to you?

The numbers saying how many accounts were banned for what purpose are cute but there are still people getting banned apparently for not doing anything wrong. I cant say they are telling the truth but when you stream a game and have 60 days worth of footage showing that you didn’t alter the game in anyway…and then are banned anyway with all your preexisting tickets deleted something is wrong here. Oh well. Shame on those abusing the system I guess and good luck to anyone recovering your account.

Not sure why you have a problem with it. They exploited the game and got what was coming. The ones who were already banned once for something similar gets a permanent ban and first time offenders get temporary. Think of it as setting an example. Which i think is necessary.

From what ive been reading alot of botters got banned too because they were abusing this. As for if they are telling the truth about being innocent or not read this

This is someone asking a bot dev how to get unbanned. Not saying all are guilty, but i hope IMC is really cautious about who they unban if any.

Got the pic from another thread on here. I’m sure you already know this, but cheaters will say anything to get away with things.

Do not be afraid. We take precautions before wielding our Hammer of Justice. The innocents shall not be harmed! - This joke is killing me please STAHP!!

sigh

  • 994 will be banned for a total of 30 days, as this is their first known offense

I just really hope it’s a “First offense” kind of thing and not straight perma-ban.

40-60? ROFL they baned 3 bots today in orsha

@WryKeg dude try to read more in the forum before you whine. IMC is not being way too abstract and ambivalent, you are just being way too dense.

IMC clearly stated the following in their weekly Q&A:
We have no plans on restricting add-ons that conveniently display information which can be obtained from external communities or between users.

However, we are sternly against add-ons that allow abnormal gameplay such as being able to use NPC stores on a field or an auto-play program. Those are prohibited and its user is liable to be banned.

From these statements, you could clearly understand that enhanced collection, map fog viewer, quest display and the like are allowed since anyone can readily obtain the information it provides from forums and other means.

On the other hand, accessing NPC which does not exist on fields and auto-play program (bot, autopot, autoskill, etc…) clearly alter and promote abnormal gameplay.

Add-on removing pet focus during battle was already implemented officially during yesterday’s patch.

Your companion can now only be clicked and targeted in non-combat situations. As for other characters’ companions, they can only be clicked and targeted if they are the enemy.

Lastly, gear set management is not that abusive since its function is not totally auto-play. You would still need to type the command and wait for full gear switch to complete which may take up to 5 seconds.

@1Paolo Um, no, unfortunately the dense one is you as you completely missed my point. Not to mention that your arguments are wrong.

What I mainly criticized was the lack of a proper announcement of what has been declared punishable before the ban and that they haven’t named the add-ons they’ve disallowed.
In the forum you will only find two posts stating cxanywhere has been sent for review. Then, on the next day hidden in a Q&A they mention that remotely opening NPC shops is forbidden.
Point being, considering the imprecise specification of allowed modifications - see below - this procedure is unacceptable.
Cxanywhere isn’t a great example, but still, beside the whining cheaters trying to get their accounts back there may be players who assumed that add-on was permitted considering what is tolerated.
Such an ambivalent procedure and sudden actions from IMC will only confuse and might even frighten players.

As for your arguments, the way I commented on enhanced collection it should’ve been clear I meant if IMC chose to be pedantic this add-on would become an issue.
The main purpose of it is not to supply you with a database of available collections but to check your storage for specific items and automatically move them on request. We also don’t know why the original design is so time-consuming. So if that ‘search and fill in game’ is intentional that would be a third reason why this add-on could be found to affect the gameplay.

Similarly, while the map fog add-on does reveal hidden ‘islands’ which you can discover checking fansites, its main purpose is to trivialize the exploration of maps. That certainly alters your gameplay.

That is obviously not a valid argument on whether that feature was acceptable as an add-on.

Auto-play? Why is it suddenly the only prohibited aspect?
5 seconds for a full-gear switch is in most cases already faster than doing it manually and you don’t even have to create full-gear sets only. Not to mention it adds an automated procedure to the game which bots might be able to take advantage of.

So much whining.
There was an announcement, and which addons are allowed and which are not should be blatantly obvious by the statement made in the announcement.
Addons which display information (item drops, exp rate, monster health, name, etc) are fine.

Addons which change the gameplay (using shops without talking to the NPC, botting, auto-potions, etc) are obviously not fine to anyone with common sense.

if they made that little announcement 2 ~ 3 months ago, nobody would be getting banned for this sorta thing.

So Bottom line can I use the map addon? Its the only one I care about.

if you worried about which add on to use: i recommend using excurlon for exp view and map exploration only. im using it too and didn’t get ban. Also note the announcement make by IMC literally state that add on that allow UI display is allow but not alternate game play. Excurlon fit the discription.

Innocent question.
Extended UI Addon (the one that let you arrange UI things on ur screen) is NOT the issue that made people get banned, right?

Would like to know this as well since reorganizing the UI and hiding some of its elements is not necessarily modifying any gameplay feature at all. More specifically, that annoying oversized weapon swap button, that annoying tp button, the oversized mini map and such. Would hiding or repositioning those considered as abusive?

Still no response from IMC…
