I’m trying to figure out if you’re exaggerating, or if the system has broken in the past week that I haven’t been playing too much…
At an item that is listed for 800,000, the tax (10% + 2.5%) would be around 100,000, not 20k, wouldn’t it? Same for the “3kk” (3,000,000) item being around 375,000 or so? Then again, I’m too tired to math properly right now, so I probably shouldn’t talk…
That said, sinks are usually intended as a way to balance the economy, and somehow reduce the bot problem. Issue is that Devs never consider the fact that even if bots are getting banned (and their generated currency goes with them), some of it has changed hands again and again, via RMT or other forms of sale (even the legitimate kind). It’s in the system somehow, and even if it’s only 5% (an exaggerated and hypothetical number here) left, it would still result in a raise in price eventually.
The sink is kind of doing its job, though, for now, and will usually last the first 6-12 months of the life of a game before it becomes almost pointless… Unless they find a way to solve the bot problem completely.
