About blue mobs

Its not really that bad. Panto archers gave 19.5k when I needed 140k to level up. Also blues give full exp regardless if you are on a party or not(Saw a video of a swordie soloing a blue panto archer, and he got 19.5k too ^^)

Exp is reduced if you are too far away from the monster’s level. If it took you 140k to level up, then you were 59. This is unlikely, as I spent a lot of time at level 55 killing panto archers ( for testing reasons ), and I received 10k for killing a blue one.

It’s more likely that you were 45, and it took 120k to level. At this range, your exp was reduced somewhat due to being ~12 levels higher than the panto archer ( I believe at about 5 levels difference, the exp starts to get reduced ). When I was 3x, blue panto archers gave around 27k~30k. Since you were in a party, it depends on how many you were partied with. There is an exp bonus that is based on many you are partied with, which evens out the split of exp a bit. Also the level of the swordie that you saw solo the archer would come into play too.

Either way it’s definitely not the case that blues give static exp regardless of party exp share.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KU1-1cb27D4 First one gives him 19.5k, 2nd one yields him 20.5k experience. Solo player(one guy was disconnected, the other one too far away to share the experience). I used to get the same amount he got, on a 5 man party.

I like the idea of blue mobs, but their effect is far too powerful (considering a mob might give 90 exp, a blue gives ~45000 exp, which is like 500x exp multiplier). Especially when one of them basically gives you ~50% of your level’s worth of exp. I managed to find like 4 of them in a 20 minute time span which allowed to me to fly through a couple levels. I’d probably say nerf the blue mobs by quite a bit (maybe have it be a 25-50x exp multiplier). Bring up the base up of the mobs instead to compensate a bit.

It is quite luck based on how fast you level up compared to others if you happen to catch or not catch a lot of blue mob spawns at the moment.

True, I forgot - the reason I was getting 27~30k was because I was overkilling.

Look boyz and ladies - as i already mentioned it’s RNG - if people don’t like RNG a grind/loot based game is not the right thing for them. You explore stuff - you suddenly encounter a blue one and be like “oh myyy goood such a sweet suprise i love this game i love myself i love my luck” - such moments happen if you dont force yourself to find them and simply let it happen. If you are saying “the exp is too much ohhh others might find more than i do and lv up faster” then let it be! If people find cool and awesome equip or got super high luck on their alchemist and create powerful stuff - then you might be jealouse too “uh he doesn deserve that x.x only i do…i hate this game i hate my luck lets quit mimimi” xD I personally like it! And hey if you lv on a map and find some guys - be nice! talk to them! ask them to party up and clear some stuff together! you all gonna be happy if you find a blue one! sure you get less juice but its a fun game go out and have some fun with new people right?!

I don’t mind having some luck, but the problem is that it’s quite difficult to balance the exp table around the existing blue mobs as they provide a huge spike in exp. My level 25-30 took quite awhile, but my 30-40 was quite short because I started finding a lot of blue mobs by some random luck streak, even to the point of gaining a couple levels in just 10-15 minutes.

If the blue mobs had a smaller impact, but still meaningful, it would be a bit easier to balance out the tables. It’s not so much about being selfish/“me me me”, it’s about making the gaming experience a bit more consistent rather than swinging too far one way or the other when your luck is good/bad.

As I said, I like the idea of the blue mob spawns, just their impact is just far too much each time you find them.

Edit: I should add that after awhile I started skipping areas that didn’t have “enough” mobs because I figured I might be missing out on a blue mob somewhere if I decided to stick around and kill these 10-20 mob spawns. It seems like a rather terrible way to design the game in such a way that people avoid killing stuff to hunt down that jackpot.

but yet again - being a level 40 on here is like being a level 10 novice on ragnarok pre renewal - you have to take this into account - people explore and test stuff - next cbt you might see players hitting 50 in half a day - the impact of a blue mob might be huge in low levels (i consider pre circle 5 as low level) but might loose it in the higher levels. Prob they are just a boost for lower level player and might not be so “important” in higher ones aka 250+ (who knows maybe they dont even spawn in 270+ maps?!)

I just want to see blue mobs replaced with field bosses, although i like the white mobs that have the increased loot, those can stay.

That may be the case for blue mobs, but we have no way of knowing for the moment. As such, my feelings are based on what we were given in this beta so far. Even if that were the case, I feel it would be a lot better if the impact of a blue mob wasn’t so enormous even at the lower level ranges. It should be a nice bonus for sure, but not ~500 kills worth (speaking from my personal experience of course).

Pretty sure the blue mob is just a multiplier of the xp the existing mob gives so it’d just scale as you level and result in the same amount of time lost if you missed one.

I get your point, but as other people are saying, this breaks the monotonous grinding and helps a lot in that aspect. Like finding a treasure goblin in Diablo 3.

Though I hate that the maps are so congested, when you finally hit a blue mob, others will try for it then you get nothing even if you hit it first.

you need that x1000 in future cause grinding above 40-50 doesn’t even give you full lv anymore, its half the bar only and after 100-150 just only a quater from what i heard

could be fixed by having 1-2 more channels since people just usually run through lv 20-40 in 2 days or so casual grinding~

Yeah, That was what bugged me. Earlier in the CBT, they had about 15 channels but later, it was reduced to 3 channels. I hope that was just for testing, because this game will need a lot more channels.

That’s interesting. ^^^^

Whoa Mountains!

maybe cause 5k with 4-5 channels is enough but having 20 channels just for 5k is a bit too much since kCBTs have more players compared to us

For testing maybe it was enough. But 5k players in only 3 channels will not suffice.

I believe each maps has its own channel. For example if you are in town; there will be lots of channel but for the level 160++ maps; there are only 1 channel in most of the maps. Not sure though. Need someone to confirm.

It doesn’t look great if channels are reduced in grind heavy maps. That’s what I encountered.
