Title says it all. Trying to decide between archer 3 for higher physical attack with kneeling shot, or appraiser for the blindside. Appraiser seems like the obvious pick, but the 40 second cooldown takes away some of blindside’s luster. Any thoughts on the matter would be appreciated.
Eu estou indo sapper 3, app, cannon2

Why would I go STR? DEX adds more damage with crits than STR does, and broom trap is basically guaranteed to crit, and appraiser almost guarantees crits for cannon skills. Not to mention kneeling shot gives you physical attack based on DEX and all cannon skills can be used when kneeling. Yes, there’s also bazooka stance, but it’s a pain in the ass to use and very situational as to when you can really pull it off. Takes 3 seconds to enter stance, by which time anything other than a boss is already dead.
Do you think you’re gonna benefit more from kneeling shot, or blindside? the DEX damage increase by kneeling shot skill level only applies to the auto attacks, or also to skills? It’s really a hard pick since blindside also benefits the party…
Yes the dex damage increase with kneeling applies to skills also. Idea is that DEX + kneeling shot gives both crit attack from dex, and physical attack based on dex when kneeling, along with the extra crit rate when kneeling which bazooka stance doesn’t have. Basically replacing bazooka stance with kneeling shot (less potential but far easier to use do to bazooka having a 3 second set-up time and kneeling giving more reliable crit rate) - so my gut tells me that i should be going for the highest damage possible while kneeling as it’s trying to compete against bazooka stance. On the other hand, appraiser boosts refine level on sub weapon by 3 levels, so that somewhat makes up the difference with the cannon attacks, but would have no benefit to broom trap or detonate trap from sapper. Appraiser would also give reliable crit rate but the debuff range / hitbox is horrible; a rectangle between you an the target, resulting in some awkward positioning being required to make the most of it. Blindside also has a 40 second cooldown, during which both archer 3 or rogue 1 would be better options. Sorry for the wall of text - this is why I can’t decide and why I’ve put off making this particular build for so long.
You can use cannoneer skills while kneeling. There is also an attirbute that gives cannoneer skills +10% crit chance when kneeling. Additional damage from it is also a straight patk boost on the char sheet so it can work with damage that pops up while youre kneeling such as broom trap -> kneel, Poisons -> kneel, or hovering -> kneel.
The big difference between A2 and A3 is that A3 gives 3x of your dex as patk and a2 is 1.5x
Personally I decided to go all out for crit on auto attacks and skills. Archer3->Scout1->Rogue2->Cannoneer2
However I would instead change this to Archer3->Sapper2->Rogue1->Cannoneer2 to try as Scout is simply filler but I think you can drop 10% Rogue crit chance for Broom Trap reasonably. Cloaking/Fluflu are nice though!
I don’t find that Appraiser is enough to guarantee crits or make full DEX worth it at all (outside of Kneeling Shot’s insane damage increase when full DEX)
Appraiser gives you around 30% chance to crit with blindside but the CD is a bit long when you use all the OH.
This is also apparently seperate from normal crit rate (according to the skill), so this wouldn’t be a +30% chance to crit but more like a seperate roll that has a 30% chance to turn your attack into a crit.
Assuming you take everything crit rate related you’ll have something like this:
Now keep in mind the bottom is WITH Sneak Hit and from the back, which you won’t have, so about 40% crit chance. However since Blind Side rolls separately you need to take this into account! It frees you up from reliance on werewolf cards (Rogue), or needing to worry about positioning as much, but
- Attack
- 40% chance to crit
- 30% chance to crit
This ends up being something like 58% crit chance, this is still nice enough for most things, but fully reliable.
Up to you if the ease of use is worth losing 40% crit (or 50% if you can spare another rank)
Now that’s the sort of info i was looking for! Seriously, thankyou :). However, the reason I wasn’t contemplating rogue is because the card system is changing, and we’ll only be able to use 3 werewolf cards. It’s a huge nerf to it. I suppose having rogue 1 is still an option though. I want sapper 3 in the build so the choice would be between archer 3 or archer 2 with rogue 1.
Can you pls tell me the skill distributions of sapper? Do you pick claymore, broom trap, or stack stockade to max?
I max Broom Trap and Detonate Traps, myself. The rest don’t really matter all that much. having 1 point in stake stockades is nice, as you can use them for detonate trap. Claymore is nice damage on flying, but loses a bit of its luster/potential if you’re not using a 2-handed bow.
Broom Trap is a must max, the rest because of how some skills work is mostly preference on playstyle
.
how do were wolf cards stack? I was under the impression you multiply them together and not flat addition ie 2 10 stars equal 2 chances at 10%
Ah… sorry, i was meaning to say Detonate Trap… Idk why it became Broom Trap XD
@steeple1989
So, is it safe to assume you’re going to pick archer3 over rogue1? I’m kinda leaning more towards that myself
get rogue c1 instead
20 20 20 20
Mind giving more insights as to why to pick rogue c1 over archer3?
Seems canonneer is a kneeling build judging how the devs lifts restrictions of canoneer skills on kneeling stance., so maximizing the DEX damage bonus to kneeling seems the logical thing to do.
Future change to card system (3 werewolf card i/o 8 later), and positioning hassle to benefit from the crit from Sneak Attack… I dont see anything good from going rogue c1 at all. We canonneer seems to be a ranged blaster… going rogue, you have to somewhat go melee (?).
It’s a tough call, I’m going with kneeling personally but I’ve heard from others that Bazooka is actually really good (Auto attack and otherwise), if you’re focusing on crit more though you will get a lot more mileage out of Kneeling Shot IMO
Archer C3 - To buff kneeling shot (Go from 1x DEX to 2x DEX making it really good, if you are going all in on kneeling shot/dex, do this.
Rogue c1 - +40% crit but you now need to botherwith WW cards to access that crit instead of glass mole cards. I’m going with this personally, but by the numbers it is most likely a bad idea and Sapper3 or Appraiser would be better simply due to that loss of glass mole cards, even assuming just the PAtk and not the Catk glass mole would give you +80% on your hardhitting skills compared to WW giving you a chance at +50% (PAtk criting) and whatever spare you also gain from CAtk. Now keep in mind that those changes from WW cards to proc on that are just to get that +40%, so even if you had 8 WW cards (I don’t know if they’re additive or multiplicative) that’s 80% or 57%~ chance to proc that +40% crit chance
It’s probably not the better choice all things considered, but it’s the route I personally chose. Also cards are geting redone and since we have NO information on how such a card-heavy class like Rogue will end up, this leaves us with a big potential problem!
I’m A2-QS3-Appraiser-Cannon2 since the reset event (tried Sapper during that same event but didn’t like it) and my mates just love Overestimate and especially Blindside.
Apart from all the damage speech, if you feel like supporting your group, Appraiser is the way to go.
2:1 STR-DEX (+25 CON) but I’m waiting for the Stat Reset Potion from the Guess to Impress event when I get it in 3 weeks.
no need werewolf cards
just shoot from behide
easy
especially if u r going to use bazooka stance, u’ll have ppl control mob for u anyway
u also don’t need to maximize dex…
just go full str/high str
easy
Are you talking about siauliai which bosses almost never move around?
If we take example from salus bosses, we will have a hard time positioning ourselves
Well, this works fine if you have someone doing more damage than you, but that’s the only time. On Siauliau for example, as soon as you start largely outdpsing everyone else… it will turn around negating your crit bonuses.
Of course if you have a swordie with provoke attribute they have to do much less damage to keep the aggro at least.
