A2>XX>XX>XX>Falc>Musk2?

Help me fill in the blank please. The general purpose of those 3 blank classes will be AOE for ease of lvling and some utilities. Mainly for PVE but PVP will be great too.

Some viable classes I have thought of:

  • Ranger: Just 1 circle for Barrage
  • Rogue: Will be chosen for Ranger Barrage + Feint combo
  • Sapper 2: Broom and Punji are the main attraction. But this class is not very mobile
  • Scout: Just 1 circle for utilities
  • Wugu: Does this class have decent AOE? I have avoided this particular class like plague (no pun intended) because 2 Wugus can overwrite each other’s poison.

Here is my progression plans:

A2>Sapper2>Scout>Falc>Musk

A2>R1>Scout>Rogue>Falc>Musk (forgot Falc in this build)

A2>R1>Wugu2>Falc>Musk (this one is questionable)

Stat distribution will be around 1:1 Str:Dex and about 50 points in Con

if sapper not very moblie then musket not very very mobile lol.

in your choice i think i like this one.
A2>R1>Scout>Rogue>Falcon>Musk
reason I like barrage+feint, flare shot+capture combo

Pro. can do a lot of thing.

Con. not enough skill slot.
Con2. without sapper2/QS3 skill its hard to use Circling+Multishot/Covering Fire

Traps are immobile and they take time to prepare (except Broom). Musk? Not so much, Covering Fire animation is only 2s. In normal PvE, it’s hard to setup a good trap. Sappers can perform better in dungeons but I still think they are a bit too clunky.

Maybe I will go R1>Scout>Rogue route. Sneak Hit + Barrage + Feint will be great.

Btw, Circling + Musk 2 Snipe = great AOE

Going this exact same route, almost falc now

Example of your planned build at Uphill defence. However no Falcon1. The player is A2 Rang3 Rog1 Musket1:

If you’d like a good mix of AoE, and Single-target burst (at range), definitely drop sapper2. Sapper2 will fall off, and Broom trap is the only useful skill (and detonate traps at PvP/vs boss traps/boss magic circle).

A2 Ranger1 (A3 or scout1) Rogue1 Falcon1 Musket2 perhaps (?). Scout1 will make you quite more viable at PvP/GvG too. A3 is just a stronger multishot.

Pros: many multi-hits through Multishot, Feint&barrage, Covering fire. Quite nice skills to cycle through.
Just drop all skills you don’t use, don’t put them on your skill bar - it will rid of the clutter.

For the vid, note the mobs are higher lvl than the musket. They have 4 physical classes (3 swordies), and one Diev druid support running around to drop statues/buff.

Of course your AoE won’t be at the level of reiter retreat shot, however if you cycle through Multishot-Feint&barrage-Covering fire (plus circling), I believe you have quite nice clearing speed. The musket in the vid doesn’t have circling. She has +AoE attack ratio gear though.

Hm if I am to build one for PVE:
A2-R3-Falc1-Musk

for PVE/PVP/GVG
A2-R1-Sc1-Rog1-Falc-Musk

I can’t make my archer anymore without taking a scout 1. +5 speed and picking flowers without getting interrupt. Scout 1 is the only reason that keep me sane while questing.

Tks for all the replies. I just saw someone dealt 60k per Barrage point blank during the 130 rush but he was using a high Str build.

I think I will get about 250 total Str, some Con and the rest into Dex. More crit and evasion.

@greyhiem: I do have a SR but I don’t really like it. That’s why I’m here asking for a Musk build

@Nicola: Ranger is kinda pointless without Rogue in my opinion. And I am not fond of Spiral Arrow and Bounce Shot either

Keep in mind that barrages has bad scaling for late game. Unless you do feint + barrage, it’s not that great.

I think the reason Nicola took Ranger3 is for the stronger Steady Aim buff (for musket burst, and other burst).

you don’t need to split into 2 build

if you choose A2-R1-Sc1-Rog1-Falc-Musk then just go for this build it have better dps than r3 build (flare shot/feint+barrage)

A2-R3-Falc1-Musk only if u want highest damage for snipe /covering fire aka if you want steady aim 20%.
and I think this build for future when you feel… ahh i don’t need old skill anymore… I will use my rifle/r9-r10 skill forever…

I will think of other ways to cover 10% loss from Steady Aim. Going R3 for 10% more damage is a bit wasteful for me. In exchange, I can have Scout and Rogue. Superb utilities

I agreed that’s why I suggested 2 build.
Some prefered more bursty damage.

Every skill pre-rank7 has bad scaling into late game. Good thing about Feint + Barrage is that it’s a burst rotation you can fit in between your R8 skills when they’re on CD.

Yeah, I agreed. That’s why I preferred classes with Utilities/Buff at earlier rank.

But…running shot not bad right? (200+80%+40%(new weapon)+40%(skill gem))
Even I feel like I have no time to use it anymore lol.
