Thing is, the depeer you go into later fletcher circles, ranger abilities is becoming obsolete. I’ve gone A2-R2 route since it’s scaling 25% buff( you also get 5 additional attacks on your multi shot also, so you’ve still have very strong ST abiliti early) vs 5% more on steady aim and spiral arrow. I believe that spiral arrow is really good ability, but it has too long of a CD to make it a very heavy contender to be top ability, and with 25% crit-rate buff you have more leeway on how you can gear and gem your equips, that can load more damage on you other abilities. Barrage gets outscaled by crossfire, and as a ranger 2 i only loose on a 147 damage@ arrow on a barrage if its still needed for its shotgun-like capabilities. So in reality it’s 5% steady aim + spiral vs 25% crit rate with zero downtime. I’d say that A2-R2 is more future-proof build in case new circles are added, but main drawback is that you delay you’r good spike up until at least magic arrow of F2 to get really good ST damage.
