A topic regarding good and bad TP use in the game

Hey everybody! First of all I hope this doesn’t offend anyone. I like the game and I want to be able to enjoy it even more.

To me trading should be open and team storage should have no restrictions, and with the same amount of slots as personal storage. Also there should be no untradeable items between same-account characters (except quest items and EXP Cards for obvious reasons), specially Premium items. I was really disappointed when I got the items I paid for on the most expensive DLC pack with my first character and discovered that I couldn’t transfer some of them to my new characters.

The focus of this topic, however, is to discuss about the use of TP in the game. First, the good things. I love the Appearance items! The premium hairstyles are good, and the premium costumes idea is just amazing. Everybody can get new costumes changing classes, so it’s not a TP exclusive feature, but the premium costumes add more diversity for the players and are an easy way for the company to get money. The costumes also follow the visual style of the game and don’t contrast with the free costumes. I’d suggest making even more of them, as well as new hairstyles. An option could also be making versions of the free class costumes. Recolors, slightly different models, shorter/longer clothing, there are lots of possibilites.

The bad stuff: first, for all the restriction put on trading and storages aginst spamming and bots it’s the easist thing to buy Megaphones and spam. The shout channel is not necessary and is mostly used for spamming, flooding and overall negativity. Yeah, some people use it for selling or requesting items, but I think that fixing the trading (and maybe market) system would help people sell/buy items much more than shouting does. Shouting is not necessary, doesn’t really change the gameplay, and it could as well be a Token-exclusive function.

Second point: the Potential system is just awful. I mean, the Potential system is ok as long as it is related to upgrading/enhancing items, not trading, and, worse of all, team storaging. It looks like the system works this way to prevent bots, but, just like other systems in this game, it’s only a minor hinder to bots while actual players get punished for it.

These are the most relevant points for me right now. The way the game is right now, unfortunately I feel regret for buying the DLC. I won’t stop playing, but if everything stays the same I won’t spend money on it again. I know this is kinda redundant and that more topics like it have been made, but I think it’s important that the company knows how players feel, as well as complimenting for the nice premium costumes feature.

Of course this topic is open for criticism, as well as people who have different opinions on good and bad points of the game. Sorry in advance if I forgot to include something in the post.

You got the point there:[quote=“squirrelboy, post:1, topic:179857”]

There is no argue saying that this game has been out for a while in KR, long enough to think other solution for the bots and gold sellers, not like this, where us the players have to suffer.

About the potential is a good system, but it shouldn’t be applied with team storing.

I also regret spending my money to get the DLC, since i spent it i will play it, but man it so hard to play a game when you know its worse then when it was on Beta…

I hate that I’m playing devil’s advocate on this one, but there’s one thing I like about potential and that it prevents people from turning the market into a game by itself. Shame on me for not liking that style of play (I regularly have 100 open orders on EVE), but it discourages people here from buying up a bunch of items to repost them at a higher price.

This is particularly true of materials as they can only be traded once. Say I’m selling a Vubbe Fighter Blood for 700k and someone posts one for 600k, I can’t go buy it and repost it for 700k as it’s now untradable.

I guess it also has the benefit of keeping the market for lower level gear alive, since the same item cannot be used forever. It’ll eventually reach potential of 0 and cannot be traded again.

A compromise could perhaps be that items can be traded without reducing potential, but once potential reaches 0, it cannot be traded anymore. This would make it a gamble when it comes to overupgrading items if you ever intend to sell them later. You can keep using Anvils to drop potential to 0, but if it ever hits 0 it cannot be traded anymore.

To be honest I feel more restricted now than in CBT too. At least in CBT I actually started everytime with a new character without the intention of transfering items. When I bought the DLC pack I didn’t even think of the possibility that you couldn’t transfer those items from one character to another, because to me it was obvious that you wouldn’t be required to use all those items on the same character.

As for the potential system I think the idea is interesting, but ultimately it’ll just make people overvalue items with more potential. Why would you buy a item with 0 potential if you can’t sell it forward after it stops being useful for you? You couldn’t even give it for free for a friend either. In the end it justs disencourages trading and commerce, specially if you are interested in enhanced equipments

Maybe the Potential issue is more related to personal taste, then. You said about EVE, but I like its style of commerce where you can trade everything, even playing time. I don’t dislike the idea of commerce being its own game. Some people like the game for grinding, some for quests, some for pvp, some for commerce, etc. I for example couldn’t care less about pvp, but lots of people like it.

I think the current Potential (and to a lesser extent the untradeable materials) system makes it easier to lead to overpricing and stagnizing the economy than it being possible for you to resell your items does.

I think everyone can agree that losing potential on team storage is a bad thing, though xD

The potential system is there to control item inflation. Not to deal with bots. It will not be removed (and I opposed its removal), and is a good feature.

Arguable… I don’t mind either way if team storage reduces 1 potential or not. But it does prevent 2 alts using 1 set of equipment.
