On FFXIV Online everyone who contributes to a kill get loot and exp somehow linked to dmg done + dgm taken formula and quest related items/count check. Honestly it was delightful to play because there were no problem involving ks’s and it was even encouraged because you’d be helping other people. Honestly it is the best system I ever experienced and promotes a healthy community. Playing this beta and making quests can be pretty annoying wih the ksers. Tanks and supports cant solo grind because any mob they make can be ksed by archers/ barbarians/mages. So that’s a feedback that should be taken into consideration.
On ff14 damage taken has nothing to do with anything. Its strictly damage done / threat generated hence why you would see white mages spam aoe heals to pull aggro on the hunts.
also for tos xp is already distributed by the % damage and for quests as long as you deal of 50% before someone shows up you get the credit.
Hmm, no, the last hit gets credit for quests, always. Quest like get x/x items from monsters, kill x/x monsters, etc.
Well thats the point. If you’re mobing or is a Low Damage class you can get pretty screwed up. You cant finish quests properly or even grind mobing. That kind of Threat/dmg System would work perfectly to make the game enjoyable.
just tested this yesterday in tenet half killed something then someone ran by and killed it and i got credit. I am right if you do over 50% the credit remains yours.
Just tried 70%+ dmg dealt got ks and didnt get credit .
As an avid swordsman player, to keep control of mob flow its key to just dmg all the mobs to about one last hit.
I get all the credit / items for others coming to ks. How do you think you can get that Tanu flower in a small 1 channel map with 5-10 people competing for the same flower?!
TL;DR @thebloodyaugust is right, just like owning a business once you do 51% of the dmg you have free reign
Having leveled multiple characters to 100+, including low damage classes like Full Support priests, I can say with 100% certainty that I have damaged thousands of enemies down to less than 10% by myself, had one person come up and get the last hit, and lost out on quest credit. Every. Single. Time. It’s an awful system in its current form.
No one is arguing about he loot going to 51%+ but quest credit. And yeah as a low dmg class is freaking annoying to get ksed all the time by Barbs when trying to grind. You cant just do 51% of the damage in a second, and there they come stealing your mob, loot and exp.
i can confirm. just a while ago i was doing a quest killing a specific mob, as i was about to finish 1(20% or less hp) a sordi came in and took my kill. worse(wait, theres more) part is a weap recipe was dropped. he picked it up then vanished offscreen. well okay, tough luck, so i continued with the quest and just when i was about to kill another 1, guess who?
the same inconsiderate poop sordi pops out and steals my kill. the worst(told ya) part of all, the same weap recipe dropped from the same tpye o mob that i was about to kill who was again 20% or so hp. if we could flag or pvp its okay, ill just send him back to a goddess statue but thats not the case here.
well thats the point, if there is a system that encourage people to help each other instead of screwing it would be a more joyful experience huh
