A Note about the so-called RO sequel

playing it on gamepad is nice too since click-click game tend to make ur mouse 1 clicker damage serverly from the intense of clicking >_<"

also… from intense gaming on intense player tend to play games to an intense hours of gaming… lest say like… 12 hours straight play… that my friend could hurt ur hands(carpral syndrome? or whats is called? nvm)

mmosite also did the same and that was around 2011

was it IMC staff that wrote that or was it

Yep I agree. That was just fans who were too excited about ToS and eventually compared ToS with RO, saying it is the spiritual successor. That is meant to get everyone’s attention to read their article.

I think rather it was the media that wrote that, but i have sadly no video or any other extra information that could proof in any side, but I would say it could explain, why people would think “OMFG ITS RO THE REAL SEQUEL AND IT LOOKS NEARLY THE SAME OMFG”

Thus my point stands, it was the media and fans that called ToS as spiritual succesor to RO not the IMC staff.

yeah I think they saw the hype that came from RO comunity and directly said “no its not” and I think its good so, because it would bring them into a much worse situation than maybe now. (well they arent in a bad situation directly now)

I agree

always so naughty :black_joker:

Who are not excited if there’s someone saying that one of the most beloved MMORPG is getting a sequel/successor? After they look at the game, it has the similar atmosphere, similar style, how can they do not compare it to RO? That’s normal I think.

I agree completely with you, just the problem is that people still can’t stop with “it is a sequel” and i also understand that somehow, but its annoying

well i think its kind of marketing trick to let people assume what ToS like… and thus bring so many fans of RO to this forum like a mass fo zombie break :kissing:
And in my own way this game really like Legend of Mana in term of fighting sprite heh… its just me ofc

its not marketing its called NOSTALGIA

anyway my soul been taken by ToS… so yess the music is really catchy like the old game we used to play either its RO or any similiar thing

I very much agree with this statement of yours:
“Ragnarok Online will always be a legend, but RO players in my opinion should not come to this game expecting to relive the glory days. That time was long gone. And expectations, if not met could ruin things for everyone.”

We can only hope the community shares the same thoughts.

yes its sounds exactly like the old game i played

and you pick the game with the same dev :kissing_smiling_eyes:

heh i really like how IMC likes to experiment on their games and also their character designs

When people say spiritual successor to RO, I don’t think most of us expect game to be copy of RO. I started playing ragnarok when I was in 7th grade, there was only 2-1 classes, I saw how it evoled, got bigger then destroyed itself(renewal).

What I expect when I think this game as spiritual sucessor of RO, is exploration, making your own unique build, different interactions between elements/races etc. I want it to be a unique game, I don’t want just RO with better graphics. I know the playstyle, tactics there.

Overall what I expect tree of savior to be is more complicated game than current wow clones and from the cbt videos I watched, I can feel like it will fullfill my expectations.

the number 1 question to any ToS forum and message board is

’Will this game have War of Emperium’

about pvp they gonna make coliseum thing… and since its not RO i doubt WoE will be implemented… maybe some kind o like moba thing… destroy enemies base thing… welp just my opinion :kissing:

You’re right, it’s called carpal tunnel syndrome.
@rhidz

Btw on the topic, I never played woe (yes im a very casual mainstream pve ro player), but I do really expect a PvP-based mode, inviting several players but with totally different mechanics from that of WoE. MOBA war of tug-style can be one of those examples, but it’s up to the devs (im putting random examples, not preferring by any means)

What I really want to see from the devs is that, they still hold true to their words that ToS is not the same RO while bringing a rather enjoyable and memorable experience like RO (hence we assumed it as “spiritual successor of RO”) , but define it as a entirely different experience from RO and not a copy-paste RO with different themes. (no same WoE, no same rebirth mechanics, etc). Roughly I’m in line with Methrammar

Edit:got jumbled up in my own words.
