You saying it is a minigame is purely subjective. Objectively, PVP is a side of this game, not sure how you can even argue this. It exists in the game. You can duel people, there is TBL, and guild wars exist.
I disagree that it doesn’t add much to the game. PVP is super important for any MMO, since the beginning of MMOs.
Godsmash is good… that was never the point of the post. The point was how they basically gave nothing new to inqui fora rank 9 class. 2 useless skills pretty much. You can achieve the same damage going zealot 1 with the buff it has.
Took them a year to just slap on whatever skill and call it a day. They didn’t even bother to test them, judgement is useless and it barely even hits more than 1-2 enemies. It’s pathetic they couldn’t give it something actually new and cool.
Whenever I see arguments being made on how the poor designed skills which were given to a certain class are hardly useful, I’m always reminded of how Warlock 2 got 2 skills when rank 8 came out.
One of those is straight out bugged (drain) not even working as its own description suggests and the other is just a major waste of points, period. And that’s been, what, over a year already? No changes, no fixes, no nothing.
The class got another rank one year later, and guess what, the same bugged/useless skills from rank 8 got +5 levels and that’s it. No fix, no new attribute, no synergy whatsoever with new rank skills or previous rank classes skills/attributes.
So yeah, getting useless skills on any new rank is a horrible sign. They might indeed get changed, fixed, rebalanced or whatever devs call it, but there’s also the huge chance it’ll just be another warlock2. Actually Inq2 has a lot of resemblances with warlock 2: circle 2 is all about new attributes and +5 levels for circle 1 skills, and that’s it.
Comepletely agree with you… only difference between warlock 2 and inqui 2 is that inqui didn’t actually get any useful new attributes either… I tonly got 30% damage on demons with godsmash which is not very helpful at all.
It shouldn’t take a a year plus the game dying because of lack of updates to bring out terrible useless skills. That goes for all classes that were left behind. They did design some cool stuff, warlock 3 skill is really cool, shadow, bullet, zealot are all really cool designs.
Yeah some classes were clearly rushed out while others seem to have gotten more attention. I have the feeling IMC had been steadily working on new rank stuff but then - likely due to the massive players bleed out - was forced to rush all the remaining still not worked on concepts in order to just launch it asap.
Now they are using “balancing” as excuse for really working on the new ranks. Musketeer complete overhaul and Matador’s improvements seem to indicate that sorta behavior. Stuff like qol improvements, skill factors adjustments, breaking too OP stuff and buffing up underwhelming ones are expected, but, I mean, newly released ranks should’nt exactly need complete overhauls had they had a clear concept beforehand, right?
IDK why you would @ me, I never disagreed with you. I have a Scout3 and a Rogue3. I also have a Corsair3. Pretty much all my builds are just ■■■■ I found interesting (I don’t find Scout3 interesting anymore because IMC shit on Split Arrow and anyone who tells you it’s still good is delusional), they are all pretty damn bad though. Rogue3 and even Rogue2 is literally just more points of Sneak Hit, which got nerfed with all other crit skills despite being all Rogue has, and is now even worse because you can’t stack a full page of Werewolf cards so you actually have to use it “as intended” AKA trying to hit the idiotic back hit box of mobs that turn around instantly to attack. It’s pretty much only good for bossing now, which I suppose was the intention to begin with, but since you have 3 circles dedicated to this one steroid skill and those are pretty high rank circles you better be geared as ■■■■ to kill WBs with just Hackapalle skills. Which don’t work with Burrow, of course. Because nothing works with Burrow. Corsair3’s whole gimmick is you get to use a pistol but since IMC still hasn’t made any Corsair-specific pistol like they do with every other class who gets a signature weapon, it remains a useless gimmick. At least Rogue gets signature daggers even if they all just boost Backstab which is a mediocre skill. Scout, again, is just Split Arrow + a bunch of gimmicks that are good in PVP if you have a really vivid imagination. In reality, you’re going to cloak in, try to use Perspective Distortion or something, and just get instantly killed by all of the enormous nukes that cover the entire screen. The fact that IMC keeps adding these huge hitbox abilities just makes cloak less and less useful. I’ve barely PVP’d but I can predict all of these cloaked archers easily (probably from playing Battlerite a lot tbh)
But not in ToS. I don’t know how much experience you have in the MMORPG genre, but ToS PvP pales in comparison to many other games I played. Guild Wars 2, Dragon Nest, Cabal Online, Ragnarok Online, Blade & Soul, etc.
To tell you the truth, ToS PvP used to be relevant. That was before neutrality and when GvG had TP rewards. Those rewards were abused and exploited by the biggest guilds in each server, but being part of a competitive guild was one of the greatest objectives among many players. Yes, PvP is important for any MMO, but ToS only lost PvP content since IMC released the game and worse, PvP got more gear-based and less focused on the player’s skill.
SWG, RO, WoW, FF11, Dragon Nest, this game, to name a few. Wasnt too big into WoW PVP tho.
Do u know how to read? We’re talking about scout 3. Everyone knows scout c1 has some utility but you have no reason to go scout3.

I am not saying the class is perfect. The person I responded to claimed that SCOUT (read: not scout3) had only 1 useful skill.

Yeah I know about that, I just wish Kabbalist did a lot more than one or two niche mechanics, the class could have been SO much more. Its a problem that some other classes in the game have (like mentioned before), some classes have so much love and others are just… there.
If you knew about that then why did you label kabbalist as garbage tier?

Possibly because TOS’ meta gameplay resides on facerolling the keyboard for damage.
Kabbalist requires the team to be coordinated to be able to make full use of the math shenanigans, otherwise the extra damage is put to waste.
In other words: Kabbalist is amazing in a small, coordenated party and terrible when partied up with button mashers.
As I mostly play with the dragoon from the gif I posted, the class is quite a blast. When I have to solo my Sadhu 2’s Astral Body Explosion is put to use.
In my opinion, I find that Kabbalist 3 is in a pretty fair(if not good) spot.
