A lot of talk about Matador and Muskets, but Inquisitor 2 is a pretty useless circle

Inquisitor 2, a rank 9 class, has 2 useless skills and no new attributes besides the 10%dmg on demon type.

Judgement has a 1 min cooldown, it is extremely clunky and holds you in place for about 2 seconds, doesn’t work in pvp, and is just a waste of time to use.

Iron Maiden the damage is terrible and doesn’t do any damage in pvp, can’t be used on bosses or elite, doesn’t work like hook where even if you miss you still grab people. Even if you place is right on top of them while they are moving, it will not work, so it only works on stationary targets.

It’s like they didn’t want to make a c2 Inquisitor and just said give them some sht so we can say we added new rank 9s.

I mean you kinda missed the point, but yeah the skills are just completely useless. It’s a terrible excuse for a rank 9.

I probably did, I just have experienced certain skills not working on bosses.

The game doesn’t say anywhere “this skill cannot be used on bosses nor elite monsters”, so when you go and try stuff, you end disappointed. There’s no reason for skills to not work on bosses, they just could remove the CC bit and enable the damage bit when facing something resistant to it.

Or have it do something different entirely, but, it has to be documented, in the tooltip.

So when I read that, I just thought, sweet justice, the god tree is slightly less godly.

Inquis2 didn’t need anything really, honestly it could have just been boosting existing skills from 5 to 10 and you could justify taking it.

  • Malleus 10 gives the skill 100% uptime and more damage, so that is all it needed.
  • God Smash 10 is crazy strong, and the attribute to deal more damage to demons/devils has synergy with the new Judgement skill.
  • Breaking wheel only needs 1 point to be effective.
  • Pears gets a pvp damage boost, and it is a pvp-exclusive skill for the most part.
  • Iron Maiden is crazy good in pvp, further cementing the class as pvp-centric
  • Judgement has some pve synergies with turn undead, but otherwise is pretty bad, only down point in an otherwise strong class.

Just boosting skills from 5-10 shouldn’t be a rank 9 though.

Iron Maiden is not crazy good in pvp like I said it doesnt really work on moving targets so you have to wait for someone to stand still… I have tested it quite a lot.

I would have been happier with just some passives or buff skills, but something actually useful and new not just 5-10 skill points.

I’m not debating whether inquis is good or not, just that rank 9 is incredibly dissapointing.

You have to use it in conjunction with other knockdowns and crowd control, like pretty much every other CC in the game. If you use it openly on a moving target, you are doing it wrong.

The idea is to have at least monk1 or paladin1 in your build, so you can smite or strike or knife into Iron Maiden. If you have monk2 you can energy blast into it, etc etc.

See someone who is slept by a wizard, toss it on them and go to town.

That’s very redundant. The skills are of effect is incredibly clunky that’s why you can’t use it on moving targets. Obviously you can combo it from other ccs just like every single skill in the game, but the fact stands that it’s still vastly inferior to most other ccs such as sleep or hook or anything really you can just knockdown twice and people are dead before you use iron maiden.

Point still stands that both skills are incredibly underwhelming and that’s pretty much all the new stuff you get from a rank 9 class that took a year to come out.

Sleep breaks after a certain amount of hits, and can be resisted.
Hook requires the user to be stationary and channel it.

It is comparable to those CCs, maybe better.

It is no way better than any of those ccs… Hook can grab 3 targets and you can even miss by a mile and still grab people. You can even pull people to you doing incredible damage.

Sleep has a huge aoe and can be landed at max range with much longer duration. The fact that you need to cc someone first before using iron maiden as close combat cleric just makes it all that much useless.

Circle 2 of Inquisitor was just an quick excuse to release it. They didin’t bother making anything cool out of it.

Also keep in mind it is a CC in a support tree with tons of potential healing, immunities and damage on top of that.

Prior to inquis2, what crowd control did clerics have? Palm Strike, Hand Knife, Energy Blast, Smite…thats it

You are correct there, those ccs are still superior to iron maiden because, like I said before, its area of effect is really bad. It will even miss on top of players sometimes.

My whole problem with inquis c2 is that they didn’t bother to actually do anything with it but an extension of more dmg to previous skills. Yes inquisitor is good, always has been, as a circle 1. It’s a huge let down after months and months of waiting. It’s almsot as if they didn’t bother to try out the skills themselves.

Most classes got badass skills at rank 9s, actually pretty much every class got really cool new stuff.

works fine for me and its pretty strong

Do you pvp? Pretty sure you don’t. It’s usless in pve.

inquis isnt really a pve class

God Smash has a new attribute for up to 30% more damage against devil type monsters (Judgement :smiling_imp: ).

God Smash level 10 is good enough to make the choice, but imo Judgements CD could be lower (30 or 40 secondswith lasting time reduced to 50% of CD time at max level).

The good thing is that Judgement also works well together with Paladins Turn Undead and Smite and Krivis’ Divine Stigma, so it even has synergy with lower-ranked Circles.

Iron Maiden…
Well,let’s just say the skill is trash. It doesn’t do anything that would allow it to earn the name “iron maiden”, it’s just a pathetic coffin with a pathetically low skill duration.
A real iron maiden will pierce anyone trapped inside to death the moment it’s closed, and the more you strike&push, the deeper the victim gets impaled by the dozens to hundreds of metal spikes inside.

all in all I’d rate it in the midfield, not good but also not bad, looking at other C2s like e.g. Kabbalist, Oracle and Druid; it could’ve been worse.

But oh well, you can’t expect anything from the guy doing the balancing,

e.g. the new system for Ranks was supposed to be like this:
Circle 1: ~4-6 skills
Circle 2: ~2 skills
Circle 3: 1 skill

They pulled this off for all Rank 7 and 8 Classes. And then they decided to rework Musketeer and gave him 2 Circle 3 skills, basically IMCing every other Rank 7 Class for having only 1 skill(except Dragon with the Helm skill).
But that’s not all, both Circle 3 skills are actually overpowered and the new skill has a good effect for only 1 skillpoint invested!!!

If you take Fanaticism from Zealot C1 it gives 30% more damage for God Smash or any other skill for 15 secs it have 30 CD only and work on every race, inquisitor C2 is just a bad circle…

And mergen 2, scout3, ranger, rouge3 are also garbage

If inquisitor c2 is useless then Taoist c2 is even more useless. Regardless you get 2 skills that might combo with previous circles or their c3 skill. Right now just go with what you feel is better since you can always reset when rank 10 is out.
