Tree of Savior Forum

A few changes to this game that could make it more socialable and less stressful to play

Ironic thing is people (on these forums) think GM patrols are inefficient all of a sudden and that having a B2P model stops bots.

The spam detection gets me though. Just kill the filter and replace it with that.

It won’t stop bots but it does force people to have to spend money to buy a new copy of the game if they are banned. There’s a lot of little things that can add up over time to control the bot and RMT problem, but there’s no such thing as a single big solution that can solve it all.

Think it’s due to how IMC is currently coming off as incompetent to the playerbase. If IMC comes off as competent and capable to the players, they wouldn’t be as scared of GM falsely banning people. Though some (not all) people may actually be botters but we’ll never know who they are so pointing the finger is stupid.

And spam filters are old technology too. Surely someone has a nice system in place IMC could even buy the license to if they can’t program it themselves.

As long as my connection feels fine and lag free I couldn’t care less about my actual ping.
I understand that it’s troublesome and frustrating for the people who are further away from the servers (I live near the EU datacenter) but it’s definately not a problem that directly affects everyone.

It does affect you, it’s just not bad enough to make you care about it in your case. For example, this problem killed most of the BR community. IMC said Silute was being DDoS’d in South America, yet that seemed not to be the problem as the same latency issues kept going on Klai/Orsha and on the NA hosted Silute.
Once again, it does affect you, it’s not only my problem and I’m not complaining about a game feature.

That’s why I wrote “directly”. If I can’t feel it, it doesn’t change anything about my experience with the game. It doesn’t make the game unfun for me … but certain inconvienient game features or the lack of certain features do directly affect me and my gaming expierence.

So for people like me, who don’t have any connection issues (or who don’t notice them) discussion about game features is way more interesting and important.

Think that might be the problem with you @Siete. You are trying to claim that your problem applies to everyone. But your problem only applies to you and the other people having your problem. The exception is the Silute server which even IMC has admitted that it’s having lots of problems.

You should try to word your server latency issues a little differently so that you aren’t implying that it’s this way for EVERYONE. Just like I worded my game criticism in this post as an “opinion” instead of assuming everyone else has the same feelings that I do.

Also posts that sound like doomsday preaching will always be met with hostility because it’s human nature to react that way towards that kind of ‘criticism’.

Though I do get lag spikes occasionally, it isn’t nearly enough to affect my gaming experience negatively.

i would like a dungeon system like in aura kingdom

Actually if you’re supposed to be getting below 0.05 and because of this issue you get over 0.05 you won’t be able to play any attack speed buff classes like QS3 or Chronomancer. Over 0.1 will already destroy your basic attack speed and casting speed to the point someone with half that ping will land 3 attacks when you attacked only 2 times.
It’s just that people is ignorant about how ping is affecting them.
Getting more than 0.05 when you should be below that value? Then you’re already being negatively affected by it.

But if it’s not affecting me to the point where it would be completely obvious, then I don’t think it is a problem to me? I already agreed in one of your posts that your lag problems aren’t a “lie” although I slammed you here by calling them a “non-existent” because you’ve been attacking me ever since your doomsday thread.

But okay. Your lag problems exist. Silute’s lag problems exist. However a lot of players including myself are NOT experiencing or noticing how the “lag” is affecting them because the lag isn’t such a big problem that it is really obvious to them. That means people like us can enjoy the game just fine the way the servers are.

I cannot relate to your lag issues because I am not experiencing them. Do you want me to play Tree of Savior and intentionally observe everything I do to try to make note of the server imperfections even though the imperfections are not making it impossible for me to enjoy the game?

I’m not ignorant about it. But my own human reaction time and the fact that I’m playing with a rather old wireless keyboard are probably having more impact than the fact that my ping sometimes jumps from 30ms to 60ms.

Well, if you play something like Chrono3 or QS3 your attack speed buffs will be at least 30% weaker if you have over 50ms which is quite serious.
Other classes are also affected but the impact isn’t that class-breaking.

@FlanFlan I wasn’t exactly attacking you but behaving the same way you behaved against me just because I said the game MIGHT die soon going at this step, although kToS updates arriving here can potentially change that outcome.

Only if IMC fixes the billion issues with the game that are stressing players out and making them leave in the first place (kinda what I was hoping to spark a discussion about with this thread). All kToS updates will do is bring people back to “try the game again”, at this rate I doubt people will even stay for very long after coming back and realizing it’s still more of the “same sh!t”.

At least many things could get better. A lot of players quitted at certain skill changes like Skyliner and Linker’s link +50% cooldown debuff and Hangman’s huge debuff.
