[600+ VOTES! 🎉] Gacha poll, do we want it? IMC need to understand we're not koreans

IMC has transformed from I-dunno-how-to-make-money straight to aeria games. Remember how they launched TOS on steam without any way to buy TP ingame except founder packs?

Again;
Living on the western half of the hemispehere does not automatically make you the Korean’s sugar daddy, this garbage has to stop now, period.

I am 100% certain this was nexon’s doing.

That being said, if you start playing a Korean MMO, you’re going to have to put up with Korean MMO practices. One of which is gachas. I don’t go to a sushi bar and complain about the presence of sushi. That’s pretty unreasonable and very much what’s happening here.

Having said that, I don’t think they should put everything behind a gacha, that’s pretty retarded, even for a kMMO.

Very late to the party on this,I apologize.

I also am heavily against this.Gacha boxes are sleazy and not needed, and will only serve to create more tension between the players and the developers.

This has a ton of posts,so I’m probably saying what others have by now, but:

  • Gacha boxes have horrendous rates for the good items, despite what they may tell you in text.

  • Gacha boxes always have items that shouldn’t be in the box,or are obtainable without money [HP/SP items, scrolls, previously bought items]

  • The chances of getting a repeat item are higher than you are led to believe.

  • As often as they update the shop on a base level,it will take quite a while for items you want to be put into the other shop to buy things with recycled points.

  • People will want to sell or trade items they don’t want for silver anyway,so racking up recycled points will likely not be worth it anyway. The HP/SP items also won’t be able to be recycled,I would bet on that.

  • As is expected with gacha boxes, certain items in them are way more sought out than others. This will lead to crazy item values and inflation in the market that only gets worse over time as some items will be rarer than others,or only one-time deals.

  • This kind of item mechanic is known to lead to addictive gambling behavior. This has lead to it being banned to some extent in Japan, and for good reason.I also speak from experience, coming from TinierMe and Aura Kingdom;the former being closed down because the site owner changed hands, gacha prices doubled within a week, and players protested so heavily that the site was shut down within 2 months.

People do not want this, and it’s being made clear.Rise above these tactics and be better than other games,IMC.I promise you will make a ton more money just selling these items directly.

Every update on this game seems to had been to force people to quit. It’s getting bad every week. A little bit more, and i’m done with this game.

HAHAHA i knew it someone will blame this on nexon! Even when TOS is self published on Steam.

That is why most f2p kMMOs flop after a while in the West, because they refuse to adapt to the Western market. IMC has every right to lower their steam player base even more.

Well the ppl complain but when the rng boxes are ingame they buy it.
I see it in RO and i dont think it will be diffrent here.
On forum the get angry but if Imc put something good in the boxes they will buy the boxes and sell the suff on the market vor extrem high prices.

I’ll just spend my TP on stuff which I really want and need. For the Gacha will probably only buy 1 to record a vid on it and that’s it. I’ll support IMC in another way, like:

Think the only way to get IMC to listen is just don’t buy it. Eventually they will get the idea that it isn’t a popular idea and drop it. Given the way they announce it (just 18 hours before patching) it is already set in stone, haiz.

I can’t tell if you’re aware that kToS is published by nexon. It would be absurd to think iToS isn’t influenced by kToS.

And nexon (as one of the most successful western publishers to ever exist) makes a killing on gacha.

all these feedback and discontent/dissatisfaction

u guys still gonna continue playing n pumping monie

this is why we cant have world peace

I think Mr Romeo secretly hates the game the most around here, because he consistently supports anything IMC does to lower the population base. Oh sure RNG boxes WILL bring in much income (it’s the only reason why they keep appearing in almost every damn MMO) but can TOS stomach it without losing even more players? It’s not like TOS has much left.

One thing does surprise me, the gacha system already exists in this game prior to this cosmetic rng box. How come suddenly the uproar?

Curious thing though.

It’s more of the fact that everything is getting pulled into the boxes, rather than the presense of the box itself. People won’t be able to buy the later outfits coming out but rather they’d have to gamble for it now if everything goes swimmingly. Even I hate that grubby decision, it’s entirely unneeded and IMC would probably make more money if they just, actually put a damn sale up every once in awhile.

Also granted Gacha boxes are just lottery money for MMOs, so there’s that too. People hate them.

No I agree, like I said earlier these RNG boxes blow. I hate this monetization method.

I actually probably made a mistake, the enchant scrolls only allow stat increases; though they have a wide variance from absolute crap to almost game changing.

I forgot these RNG costume boxes might contain other things than costumes, but the variance is still probably high.

Just find it odd that people didnt make a bigger stiff about such a wide variance power RNG scroll compared to a subjective “this dress is prettier than the other dress” box; but I forgot the cosutme box might end up with like a health potion or something real bad like that. (I did make a comment on it, but the whihueknights were too blind at that point in the game, so I guess they didnt realize they had been bamboozeled already btw. I knew these boxes were heading to this game, once I saw the head piece enchant scroll)

Also yes I hate theses boxes, I hope they dont do what PWE/Cryptic does and flash that ■■■■ across everyone’s screen when some sucker on his 400th box gets the grand prize (or that lucky SOB on his first box); either way IMC you have choosen the copy cat money grubbing model; tis sad.

Think the reason why this is implemented is due to costumes being tradable via the marketplace.

In the previous iteration of the game, when costumes are still account bound and not tradable. Each player, if they want a premium costume look, they will have to spend 129TP to purchase it.

Now, when a player wants a premium costume, he or she can either purchase the costume via marketplace or through player to player trades. Players can barter trade, exchanging costumes to constantly cycle their looks. This kind of leads to lesser sales of costumes from the TP shop.

Hence something is needed to be done to get back the sales of cosmetic items through the TP shop (gachapon), although implementation of it needs more work to appeal to the international audience.

Well, you just spilled the beans on my master plan.

Have fun watching the tree burn~

Doesnt USA has some kind of regulations for gambling in not 18+ videogames?
EU has and IMC might have to reclassify the game as PEGI 18+, using their sports car founds of course, or lawsuits might force them to remove the gatcha system as a whole from the european server

fk you imc, being from the western half of the hemisphere does not make us shamoo
