Wow… I got mixed feelings about the nerf of Barbs.
While it is good so that players would have diverse builds on their swordsmen, the fact that the nerf really impacts on Barbarian is seriously overdone. Barbarians only relies on their normal attack (Because their skills are seriously nothing special; Stomping Kick has low AoE and hard to target, and Embowel is basically crap) and the nerf will severely impact not only Barbarians but also Corsair who is also heavily relies on their normal attack to make this class work.

Monk’s double punch, which has similar traits to Corsair’s Subweapon Cancel, is basically better in every way albeit the different skill type (Offensive skill as opposed to Subweapon Cancel; a buff skill). Double Punch increases in damage as it is leveled up while Corsair’s Subweapon Cancel only increases in duration. Double Punch has no CD and only consume 2 stamina per click while Corsair’s Subweapon Cancel is a buff that has 50ish CD and 40ish duration which results on 10 seconds gap. The only advantage that Corsair’s Subweapon Cancel has over Monk’s Double Puch is that it delivers a much faster attack animation but with lower damage because Subweapon Cancel only relies on Corsair’s normal attack.

Once again, Steparu is a majestic example and proof on showing how devastating a Monk could be at end game. Note that he/she has lower ping which results on slower punches as opposed to those who played from Korea. I’ve seen Monks played from Korean players who are able to deliver such fast double punch with no delay and high damage (approximately 2k per hit, 4k if crit), while most damage I’ve seen from a Corsair were 500-700 with Barbarian buffs per hit and that was before the patch applied which should be lower after the patch applies.

If anything, Monk should be the one who should be nerfed, specifically on Double Punch. I have no complaints over Sunray Hands as it forces you to work on three stats to be able to make it work. Paladin’s Smite was okay and I have no idea as of why a underrated class got hit by the nerfhammer severely.

Carve on KR just work on plant mobs

Nerf is needed for Barbarian… Their critical dmg and chance is way too huge… You can hit like 11k critical splash damage which is ridiculous and those barbarian buff combined with fast Corsair would be god like…

I think they nerfed it because u can combine Paladin + Monk… So u would get two very strong skill… Smite and Double punch…

But why would you use smite? The double punch looks to do similar damage and has no cooldown or mana cost o_O. Also there should be no reason for them to gimp a class just so another one isn’t OP. Why nerf Paladin and not Monk if Monk is the problem?

I see, well interesting to see if it kept only for c/obt

I really dont know and I agree with u… maybe they are going to nerf Monk in second patch…

I think making skills cost less sp and less cooldown is the answer to barbs…they cant just take away crits and leave them with weak high cooldown high sp skills :expressionless: …I agree this game has become more about auto wacking then actually using given skills

My bad. XD
Sorry!!! xD

corsair duel wield no more 50% crit rate from highlander right?

Well I don’t say it has to be like that in ToS but usually Paladins are defensive classes in games and Monks are dps so maybe that’s what they are aiming for.

if you want great results at the end, you must suffer to get in there, I would vote for archers to not have any kind of buff if they are so OP at the end game.

This is true. However Paladin’s defensive skills actually kind of suck in this game. Health regen in general isn’t very good in this game because it’s so slow, and resisting elements won’t really help you that much in PvE grind. So… I don’t really know what they want to do with Paladin lol >_>

Game isn all about PvE grind - and the Grind is easy enough - just cast a DMed resist and watch the results if an ele wanna get you - youll be impressed of the results - thats why i mentioned in another thread that ele arent viable in pvp

Paladins defensive skills are impressive in pvp and essential for further pvp builds on his way - nerfing his smiting ability is okay

Every single HP you got more in pvp counts also any incoming dmg you can reduce counts - combined with hard CC its essential stuff
