Zealot, why 2H mace?

Ok, so this has been bugging me for awhile. I was told that cleric2-krivis3-monk-kabbal-zealot2 should get the attribute from monk and use 2-handed mace.

Why??? If I use 1H mace and a sub weapon or shield, I get to equip 6 gems instead of 5. Plus I can get bonus stats from 2 equipments instead of just 1. Also, the green gem equipped in sub weapon gives more crit rate, not to mention red gem in sub weapons actually gives physical attack, whereas in main hand only increases max attack.

The only good things I see from 2H mace are better stats and skull breaker (I don’t have it). But to be honest, I don’t see any builds that would benefit greatly from 2H mace…

While we are on the topic of 2H vs 1H, what are the benefits of 2H weapons? Bow has anti-air and is required for mergen. 2H sword has highlander attribute and is required for doppel. Musket is obvious. What about the rest?

I only do PvE btw.

The thing from 2h for this build is the critical attack. You get other stats from 2hands weapons that usually at desirable for this build, such as Dex and Str. So, you will have a better attack speed and stronger attack and more aoe for increase the benefits of critical attacks. But it only valid for this kind of build, as it reach the peak of synergy

2H give much more attack than 1H + Dagger/shield (skill damage comes from your main hand). Do not forget that there is a transcending function in the game, you can see the great difference between 2H and 1H on same enhancement on trans 7 above.

Try to check it out: (Primus 350 Mace 1h and 2h respectively)

As for other benefits like on the other classes, I don’t think there is any.

All this is true.

Skull breaker isn’t that amazing now. That additional crit rate is just 1 gem’s worth. Better go with 350 weapons.

It’s no longer required to get highlander’s attribute ever since the first major overhaul on mechanics last May. People just take highlander now since it has more spammable skills and the synergy with shinobi.

Anyway, going with your 2H mace question. Personally I just like 2h mace because big weapons look cool to me. But basically the answer to your question is that it has better base atk/matk when trans-ed, as BDivinity just said. Going with 2h mace can allow you with 5 green gems and have high atk/matk (or even go full red and the difference with 1h+sub would be even higher), as opposed to going with 1h + subweapon, you’d need to go with red gems to gain the difference in atk that 2h gives.

Seems like I rambled on. tl;dr it’s just about maximizing your atk so that fanatic illusion would deal the most damage.
