Z-AFKers. This need to do something

A huge number of players leaves the characters with the button held down Z. In fact, these players do not play, but prevent other farm and increase the load on the server.
Coming up with a variety of anti-bot system is useless. But you can complicate the use of the buttons Z:

  1. Make it to not be clamped. One click Z = one hit.
  2. When a weapon is broken (turns red), to prohibit its use. For example, if you hit another 100 hits “red” weapon, it will break completely (weapons disappear forever).

Or how about adding further to this, by having it if anyone is attacking consistently (more than 5 ~ 10+ minutes. By holding down Z or C) they DO NOT receive any silver or experience from monsters, at all. Along with if they’re attacking low level monsters they gain an diminishing experience & silver debuff that makes their experience and silver gains go to extremely low, this can only be fixed / cured by attacking monsters within your level range or above and will not go away until you do.

I believe that would stop people from not only ‘farming’ low level areas for silver, but it will mitigate those who just hold down ‘Z’ or ‘C’ with something and leave it while they do something / go to sleep.

Or from time to time in a same place a survielance question apears to see if him is a bot. Like netflix, “are you still there?” If he don’t aswer in a time he gets kicked.

Sort of reminds me of Runescape’s random events in that way, something like that could be done here for bots / afkers.

1 - there’s joy2key and stuff which can set up auto fire
2- so they can just afk farm without weapon

no proper workaround :frowning:

auto-attack is good , don’t punish all player only because of a few lol

This is actually a very important point, you have to consider how your fix to botting affects regular players.
Some “solutions” end up being worse than actually having bots and afk-farmers in your game.
Best answer to botting and afk-farming in my book is world pvp, but I doubt it would work too well in ToS.

You can just make the attack stop after 10 minutes, requiring the player to release and press Z again. This will stop people who just leave something heavy on their Z keys before going to bed while not affecting people who legitimately grind for more than 10 minutes at a time.
Of course, actual bots will not be stopped by this, but in ToS I’m afraid normal people end up acting exactly like bots anyway.
We could use a report button to flag players who sit and grind in the same spot all day every day and have GMs investigate (ask them if they’re at the keyboard!), but that’s probably it.
