You know, TOS is a great game. I really like it. Despite all it’s current problems, I can stop thinking about one good issue…
Right now i’m lv 100, Priest C3 aiming to become a Pardoner, but I find it very hard to plan ahead on my build because the game is changing faster than I can get a character on a level high enough to try different builds.
I have a suggestion: create another server. A server where XP and drop rate is high and EA players can try things up while the game isn’t released yet. I want to know if my monk can deal more damage than your cataphract. I want to know if it’s really worthy going Full Dex. I just want knowledge. And this kind of server is really good price for an early acess. I don’t mind if that server lags. I don’t mind the bugs that affect the game right now. I want to have a head start for being an early acess user that doesn’t have to be a pay to win condition: knowledge.
There are more advantages to that:
- Players can build more comprehensive guides to help new players when the game launches. I remember when LoL came to Brazil and I already had a plethora of guides to orient me and that was really nice.
- Players can see the lategame and know what to expect from that. Currently we can screw so many builds that it would hit my motivation so hard if I invested 60h into my character just to look back and think: “hey, maybe X class would be better”.
- We could explore maps, find better ways to enjoy the game and create more strategies. And Share them. This would - ultimately - develop the community and reinforce a greate aspect of MMORPGS: the community.
I’m totally biased because i’m a guide writer. I wrote guides for League of Legends, RO, RF Online (hell, I was the administrator of the game wikia, personally invited by Level Up Games because I wrote so many guides to that game). I would LOVE to write guides to ToS. But I find it very hard to gather knowledge to do that.
