Anyone of you have this type of build? Are you happy with your toon?
Im totally not happy with this build, which is stuck at lvl 270 now. marked as fail build for some time.
I tried to convince that it was just me played it wrong, but I cant help to notice that 9 out of 10 other player with this build is just rubbish as well and can never be taken seriously.
I have no motivation to play this anymore. Weak attack, lame aoe, sp hungry, fragile hp…
Probably need 912839813713m silver worth of investment to get it on par with my crappiest doppel.
Should I delete this?
Thoughts? Anyone with success story to share?
Im running out of char slot.
Deleting this will afford me a slot for other build worth playing.
If I were you, I would first wait for rank 9 to come out and see what Dragoon C3 and Lancer C2 have to offer. Then second, I would check what is cheaper for me, buy a rank reset or tomes and level up a new character with a better build (probably full dragoon or full lancer, not a mix of both).
In my case, I would simple buy the rank reset since I do not play as often, have a low team level and do not have a lot equipment/silver. It takes me a month to level up a character to level 300…Maybe you are able level up in a week or less, I do not know.
Your first mistakes is using Doppel to make a comparison if a class is viable or not, because that class is so broken right now that distort all the sense of balance in the game.
But if you really want a class that have a strength comparable to Doppel your only option will be Murmillo and put around 18 million silver in the ugly helm attribute, every other class in the game don’t came even close to Doppel DPS.
Life is too short to wait for R9; And paying real money is strictly forbidden.
So its either go big or go home.
As for now I fail to see the prospect of this build to go big without costing absurd amount of investment (which could offer far greater return if spent on other builds).
If R9 turned out to be a super great stuff, ill just delete one of ‘less interesting’ char and start over. At team lvl 74 it would take me 2-3 weeks to get to 330 without any non-event exp boost.
It would be great someone could show up and tell me that it is possible make this build great again without having +20s and solmiki junks dangling all over your body; …or simply confessed that they have this build and it failed.
Its just a petty comparison, not the argument of this thread nor what im concerned of. I already have a meta murmillo build waiting for R9. Overrated I must say.
Is it strong? Yes.
Is it fun to play? Not much. I’ll choose many other builds as to-go char instead.
i wanted to deviate from meta build so i went hoplite 3 to boost my dmg output or thats what i thought, now i wish i shouldve followed meta build instead ( sw3 cata3 corsai lancer )
waiting restlessly for more rank resets cause i had enough of grinding
im only a few months into game ( i stated last june iirc ) but i believe the strong point of this build is pvp obviously ( quintain / crush hits hard even with crappy gears like the event weapons, cata-rush and corsair-hook are good crowd controls / pinning down enemies)
dont kid yourself and think you can match any of the meta builds in pve like warlock , dopp , SR
id prefer taking SR over a better geared lancer in ET anytime

Most of the skill are more oriented towards pvp but im more of pve player for now.
pvp has been treated as minor side game since the very beginning of this game, its just very hard to justify any amount of investment on it.
Its very depressing when you gain every single level in this char, while knowing you are heading to 330 with absolutely no guarantee of rewards.
Actually, hoplite3 version is more meta because of theorycrafted builds in tosbase.com, new players think its good for WB thanks to the ez wombo combo 555K burst only to find out they’re AAing a 300m life boss at the end of the day because the skills are in cd. If they really want a lancer for WB, sw3highlander3shinolancer would have done better, but really shinomurms, doppels, fencers are really the best options for it.
