It would hurt progression and make the game too easy.

He is over reacting, leveling a lvl 40 character is really easy “grinding” with mobs of the same level

OP you get more EXP with mobs at your 5 levels above and 5 levels below your character level.

Rule of the thumb was keep EXP cards to get inline with mobs +5 -5 your character level.

pretty sure they made a comment about how OP buffs are… but the level ranges it dont matter, except for that you can one shot pretty much every monster in every dungeon up until like 200 dungeons lol

Time =/= difficulty.

It definitely can be as it challenges commitment and a players ability to find a viable or better way to level. It’s important not to rely too much on time being a factor in favour of mechanical skill or a more challenging approach, but given the circumstances, especially at that portion of the game, yes, it would make the game too easy.

have you tried grinding 100+ mobs without blessing and sacrament at lvl 40?

Lol , OP before you try to attemp to do such thing try to research before complain… Didnt imc told us about you wont gain exp if gap levels is too big?

You gain exp 20 levels above you current level with penalties, beyond that border is NG

Its 30 levels now, 50 is the limit for xp.

If you want to level faster use hacks and bots, you’ll probably find some somewhere.

Little warning though, there’s an incredibly high chance you’ll get banned. So…
Note for other players and staff:
I’m not promoting the use of illegal 3rd party programs, nor do I agree with the use of them. I’m just taking the piss out of a person that lazy to level up normally that they’re complaining something that would be evidently broken is not in place.

Yeah, it’s that or stop complaining. You can kill stuff roughly 30 levels above you and still get decent exp. stick to that. A level 1 killing level 200+ mobs. (I was bored) would be way too broken if you actually gained exp.

Blessing is sort of a broken thing not normally in mmorpg’s. How about you use it for easy killing of mobs your level rather than bitching you can’t get experience from monsters more than twice your level.

Honestly, if you want to level up fast just make some 8x exp coupons. The time only runs down as you play so you could use them, do daily dungeons, log off then use the rest the next day.
Costs about £5 for 1 hour and if you’ve watched youtube videos is pretty broken in terms of leveling speed while using them. (Cough 12 hour live stream up to level 300, 8 hours live stream getting to level 230. If you’re willing to spend money it’s incredibly easy to level up Cough)

So this game is hard because people are farming for 6 months [insert RNG based features here]. If you say so.

Time =/= difficulty” doesn’t mean time is never related to difficulty. Will faster leveling make this game easier ? No. Do new players who reached lvl 200+ very fast because of the event have easy times to deal with a content they were not prepared to face ? And for old players they already know the game so, again, time is not a matter of difficulty here, just a matter of time.

Or are you telling us this game is so boring that people need to commit A LOT in order to level up ?

Don’t jump to conclusions off of things I didn’t say.

Given the context of grind based levelling, with the current system, time is currently employed as difficulty. You can argue the merits of the system, that’s fine, but time is used as a barrier, and in turn, difficulty.

This sounds more like an argument of semantics.

I recently started playing Ragnarok again.

After a week of fairly average daily play, I’m level 45. So, halfway to max level at current since the server doesn’t have rebirth yet. I have enjoyed absolutely all of that levelling. None of it bored me, it was interesting and varied. The combat was actually difficult at times. Monsters could actually kill you.

This is starkly different to Tree of Savior, where basically nothing at your own level should ever threaten you in any way at all. And the levelling 1-330 can be completed in 12 hours of game time even with the restrictions on dungeons and merc runs.

I really think this highlights some of the problem that ToS has. That a game from 2003 can make the levelling 10x longer, yet be significantly more enjoyable than a prettier game with FARRR more options and choice for character builds and skills. The levelling in ToS is very unenjoyable. The solution to that seems to have been to make the levelling reallllly short, but that’s not really a solution, it doesn’t make the game fun.

I stand by the fact that the reason people complain about boredom in ToS is that there is absolutely zero challenge.

Players need to be challenged to feel like they’re achieving something. If they’re not challenged, none of their progress feels important. This is why replaying the levelling of Ragnarok recently has been enjoyable for me, because I might actually die multiple times per level gained, because enemies are actually threatening. And because the enemies are threatening, people create parties and team up together to fight them as solo grind is just not really viable.

The problem lies with a complete lack of challenge anywhere along the entire journey.

If anyone here has any really memorable thoughts about times they’ve had in ToS, most of the time it’s going to be in areas where there used to be challenges.

I’m quite sure everyone can remember taking 3 Spiral Arrows to the face. And, even though some people complained about this back in the day, I strongly believe that enemies that challenged the players are the most memorable and enjoyable points in time they’ve had in the entire game. Actually dying or having to think and overcome challenges have definitely been the best for myself, and the problem right now is that there really isn’t anything like that, at all, anywhere in the game. Right now nothing is challenging. And I’m sad to say that it’s almost always been that way, except for a few monsters, which were nerfed.

RO Restart? Did they remove the stupid exp penalty from level differences introduced in Renewal? I really dislike this restriction in TOS as well.

While IMC is appealing to whales. Gravity is appealing to nostalgia(and eventually whales). but even with a classic server there is a undeniable fact that the good old days are GONE. Search your feelings, you know it this be true.

Not to mention ToS was difficult last year with out the nerfs to PVE last May 2017 and buff to Blessing made everything a breeze. Back then players planned out efficient ways to level and grind. You can read all old leveling and grinding guide in ToS that are all now irrelevant.
