Wow wow wow.. with this new update i think ppl may actually come back!

Depending on the numbers of this changes I think TOS can come back, if stats begin to matter and more builds became viable I think we are going to be 1 step away from a great game, they will need only to tackle the Jobs and we are good to go.

Please be good, please be good, please be good…

Too early to make this topic imo

Stats? What for? Even with a perfectly balanced class/skill mechanics (no such game exists, btw), without any proper end-game content to aim for, anything else is pointless.

Do you realize how many years took other mmo to develop a decent end game content? imagine a failed one like TOS, if it rises in popularity, we may see some invertiments and then end game content

I’ll come back fully if PvP gets balanced xD

@OP some might find it good as you think, but will fall flat on the ground after a while, we don’t need seasonal player peaks, we need a solid player base.

If IMC want to keep players here and most important, want profit, they need to review a ■■■■ load of things before even thinking on make invite new players event.

I wouldn’t invite anyone to play this Prison Simulator.

The game is not finished yet, so no end-game, but it need some automated events and some proper events, not this crap they throw at us calling it events.

Some of them was interesting tho.

Also, these timed rewards, they need to get rid of that, it’s pathetic, we should be able to use it whenever we want, not being pushed to use it soon. That is no way of keep the player attention.

There should be at least something worth building up your character for at the current level cap. Otherwise, like you said, we’re just waiting for the game to be “finished”. Which sucks since at present, the game is just about leveling up and making more alts for a non-existent content.

waaay too early to make a topic lol

I wasn’t talking about the new player event, it’s the stat and damage formula that can improve the game. Don’t you guys read before replying?

That is Solmiki/ET.
Once the level cap comes that content will be irrelevant and they’ll bring out something again for people to grind their asses towards -_-.

So how is solimiki and et currently? Is it rewarding? ToS is sort of following Dragon Nest in terms of power creep and content updates. In DN, the rewards for the raid for the current level cap is actually worth it since it would still be relevant when a new level cap comes. Or at least that’s how DN was when I left it. If ToS follows that pattern, it becomes a never ending routine of keeping up with the current end-game content in order to not get left behind.

Make that 10000 steps away from being a great game.

One step?
If you think stats and damage calc is going to save the game…

Some of the best gear in the game is acquired from it, that’s all there is to it.
You either want the difficulty, the gear, or both.
If you care for neither then you create alts and continue to farm saalus.

This is the game reality right now.

I wonder if it will really improve anything. To begin with, they still haven’t posted how it will calculate the damage and mitigation, so it’s pretty much an idea so far, also, you can’t count much on what they say, since it is bound to be changed one way or another.

Also, all we talk here, independent of the main topic, is for the game’s “well-being”.

The game is dying, people are leaving, new players come try and find themselves stuck not being able to use market, not being able to sell things they find, have to wait to receive the money they got from selling in market and so on and so.

Me and others already suggested a skill balance, patt/matt %+base damage - player/monster defenses = total damage.

See if they even think on the matter? No, they prefer use a different approach (a freaking lazy one at it) to make items like agnis, to add an idiotic system like transcendence, and the rest is more to the CS side.

I see your account is from July 2015, so I take you took part at least in one of the CBTs, and also I take you know how this game barely changed, except some QoL implementations, the rest is almost the same.

Same for bugs, there are lots of the CBT stage, they remove then bring it back, it only shows how they lack in organization and knowledge on development.

I’ve been here since the first CBT, saw many good suggestions, many bug reports, many bot reports and many hacking reports, do you think it was solved? No, and now you have the result right here…

Me and others are sad to see such a good project being killed by its own parents.

It’s ToS reality, like it or not.

Let us hope they merge INT and STR into 1 stat called Power…

the current event is really good for new players… until they realize how much restricting some of TOS features are.

that would kinda make clerics even stronger though, so i think thats unlikely

Think hard about the distribution of Clerics Physical and Magical use in any given ‘meta’ build. It’s an insignificant change that has nothing to do with why Clerics are strong in the first place but which certainly makes a more cohesive stat system.

The fact that it’s insignificant IS the problem. It shouldn’t be an insignificant difference.

Trans system made the whole stat system insignificant and this is where the root of the problem comes from.

We could merge all the stats into 1 and it would be an insignificant change.

It’s insignificant in that Skill distribution for Clerics when it comes to Magical and Physical leans to one or the other depending on the build path.

Your Plague Doctor isn’t grabbing much out of Physical, neither is your Kabbalist. They can if they grab say Monk earlier, but such builds are already lackluster and are not in danger of becoming problematic because of such a merge.

Transcendence by itself isn’t alienating STR or INT.

The reality is that 1) Skill Damage is high enough STR becomes a meagre contributor to damage in manycases.

  1. Because Crits are a multiplier Dex scales with Weapons and Skill damage which have been boosted significantly.

800 STR for instance when you have a 4k weapon is still a 20% Gain.
That isn’t insignificant.

It’s sub-optimal when you can increase that 4k, by 50% say 60% of the time (30% gain on average) by going Dex, while evading 40% of incoming damage, and then boosting the skill damage of your attack by said 30% gain. Then having Monstrance boost the significance of your Dex investment… 30%.

The INT vs CON thing for mages is a wash when you’re only taking 1 damage.
If you’re not dying then getting more damage is blatantly superior.
What it does mean is someone can hang longer in the extremely harsh damage climate of pvp by choosing CON. Trans isn’t invalidating INT. INT’s just very uninteresting relative to everything else even though SPR is probably the least desired stat in the game.
