Would this be a good way to block future bots?

Like, $50 of early access money to have unlimited access for 3 months, and be able to do several deals with other players that also joined the founder beta?

How is this better for them than unlimited access for free? They aren’t guaranteed access, either: they can be banned for botting at any time.

Wouldn’t it be even easier for them to do deals without the fee?

Of course. Everything else is futile.

They will not pay for administration good enough to clear ā– ā– ā– ā–  manually and watch over the game.

This is the cheapest solution that is effective. Proved by a lot of older titles.

it’s a bit of an inconvenience, but as I’ve said, small price to pay.

… ehh sure.

Dream on xD.

It wouldn’t work.
You lack any knowledge about how bot users and gold sellers work…

i have no idea about the cheapest solution
but there is a reason older titles did it and new ones did not

Yeah, there is a reason. People became lazy assholes and just couldn’t stand writing 4 letters every hour or two.

It’s simply just…too much.

you sure?
or it proved to be not effective and efficient that it got abandoned

Yep. That’s why majority of forums/websites are still using captions, because it just doesn’t work man, it doesn’t work.

Bots can’t read graphics, they can’t bypass it. Only way to keep them online would be to check up on them every hour or so to manually enter the code or reconnect the bot.

But that’s just not worth it for them and that’s why it’s the cheapest and also effective way and is still being used, just not in games for some reason.

Probably because people are being babies and cry about immersion and similar things.

Because HEY, if I lose my focus even for a second, I simply cannot get back into roleplaying goblin.

Yeah, but I believe a botter would think ā€œ3 Months of lucreā€.

Typically the only real way to stop bots from being developed in your game is to create an ingame bot. Wrecks the market for those who would try to build and sell one…

I will never register my credit card for a game, that’s too much risk. Also, I can have multiple credit cards, why not?

bad idea. most people in EU dont have a creditcard because they can pay/withdraw money with their own banking card world wide. but its not registered as a visa/mastercard-like creditcard. i’m 28 but neither me, or my parrents possess a creditcard.

rather then putting limitations on the valid players IMC just need to actively moderate in their game or make a system that detects bots. WoW used to be flooded with bots but now you barely notice them anymore and they are hardly a problem. and absolutely 0 limitations were ever put on the player. not even a crappy captcha system some games use.

The only way to really hamper RWT is to have no in-game economy at all. Even then, there’s still account selling, and people who want to bot grind for their own gain.

Not a lot can be done to get rid of gold spammers other than have people watch the chat and ban them on the spot. Especially in a F2P game.
