this will not work cause goldfarm companys are checking games and if they see that a game has a good community (not too small) they will even p2p just to keep their business. Check some Youtube vids of some goldseller interviews in the game industry…they wont stop… If a game is dying they will stop but p2p will not hold them off
I agree to this guy. We can’t stop the RMTs. However, the solution is not impossible. I just hope they will find a solution to this problem.
i find the business model of GW2 to be the best there is
You don’t know what you’re agreeing to. Are you in Founders’ Access? Have you seen how bad the bots got pre-F2P? Do you have any idea how totally ■■■■■■ it’s going to be when RMT groups can create unlimited bots without the need for fraud, regional currency exploitation, or stolen credit card info?
It’d be server death. You wouldn’t even be able to log in and see the bots. They’d fill every server to capacity - no amount of reporting would help. Welcome to BotWorld.
Yeah I am in Founder’s Access and I’ve seen it…i agree on what you’re trying say…
you may be right…
I just hope they will make the impossible possible…to solve this issue…
B2P OR P2P All with Certainty
Though that makes sense initially, it doesn’t in the long run. It would become a very empty server very quickly. Can most of us afford $15 a month? Yes. Would most of us pay $15 a month when the exact same game can be free a month? Not likely.
You can’t crowd a niche population into server and expect it to survive. This is only further worsened when you look at who a lot of the users would be, adults with full time jobs. This means that they would theoretically have less time to play, making the servers seem even more empty.
Having a monthly fee won’t keep gold-sellers out anyways. There are plenty of them on other games with monthly fees as well.
Would support the hell out of it being B2P and P2P. It’s good enough to warrant both, no reason why it should not be.
The game is barely functional right now and not even worth paying for at the moment.
ToS is meant to be a long-term game and buy to play would need a high cost to be effective, else IMC would run out of money.
I think a subscription based with an upfront cost is more suitable, where you “buy” it for an average price and get one free month. This upfront price is to penalize accounts that may get suspended, including bots. The subscription from there on would be the safe way to keep the game for IMC, as they would gain money proportional to how much players they have to support with servers.
