Would an Addon that removes skills visual effects be bannable?

Note:English isn’t my first language.Apologies for any gramatical errors

A guildmate was talking how useful a addon that remove such effects for GvG and we brought a topic if we could use it,we could be banned.I said yes because if we can get banned for making the game’s font bigger,we should be banned for removing the skill effects too since it works directly with the game.

But,such addon definitly would improve the gameplay of several players,including myself,who would want to GvG in the future or even world boss,pvp or do something in bigger scales.

So,what do you guys think?An Addon that removes the visual effects should be bannable or not?

I was thinking about that yesterday when i noticed that that option in the Settings to remove other players effects is just a decoration in there.

But instead of removing it, make the effect static, that way we can see what is on the ground but still be able to have some decent FPS (if you can call it decent playing at 10 or less FPS).

Or something we can identify with it’s circle area only but without most of the effects.Like a single drawn circle with some icon to identify which skill is.

For example,a red circle(to identify as enemy) with frost cloud on the middle.I think it would be more sutaible and consume less fps.

*removes visual effects

  • complains that healer hasent been putting down heal tiles
  • never gets statue buffs
    *never gets aoe buffs
  • is always cc by aoe cc
    *walks straight into ice cloud and then complains

ToS requires visual effects or some effects won’t be applied to your character. For example, if you have turned off the tree root - light bulb effect, no light will fly towards your character once you destroy a tree root crystal, and you will never be able to receive stamina recovery.

wouldn’t mind an add-on to remove seeing the damage numbers of other players

@BlueByu That’s an issue,maybe something like I recommend above with minor visual effects.

@greyhiem I don’t get it.If I destroy and the light doesn’t appear,I’ll still get the stamina recovery but no visual aid to show me I got it.

@dwojunkmail I think that would help too.

It only affects your end, not other players’. Should be ok.

SFX addon?

Using addons don’t get you banned instantly now if they get considered as bannable eventually. IMC will give us enough days to remove/uninstall the “bannable” addon and only after the set deadline will they will start banning people who still use it despite the warning. I’m too lazy to check for the link in the news section so you can go find it for proof of what I’m saying.

i assume your speaking the same effect of Ragnarok has /effect. if it is, that is good and i might want to have one myself.

Like people in Ragnarok complain when they die from Storm Gust?? then this one is invalid.

using /effect or this add-on depends on the user itself. he will be sacrificing graphic images for increased fps (hopefully it will).

the best part is, you are able to alter/add options that can make this addon better than just removing effects. or maybe, having a list of ‘skills’ which you would like to turn ON/OFF with their visual effects. though that might be a LONG LONG list. still, that would be my suggestion.

i’ll personally turn of all those AoE skill effect specially from elems and druids

No, without light visual you won’t get stamina.
