Damn that0s a nasty experience… but anyway… there only one thing i can tell you:
Lol, I love that video, seen it many times ^ ^. I have played healer some since then, but he then proceeded to switch to my server a few months later.
So a few weeks ago I just started out fresh under a name that had no relation to the names I usually go by lol. He’s not a bad person or anything but there’s reasons we didn’t stay together you know?
;>_> though I’d like to see anyone who went blind into that with a group of mostly PUG and not die at least once.
Well i guess so… i don’t really know how that might feel
It was awkward. But I’m proud to say I played nice, even after he transfered over to my server.
Plus we live in different countries now, so it’s not like he can show up on my birthday with flowers asking me to take him back again.
I’m pretty laid back.
As for truely incompetent players I’ve met though, more in line with this thread. I met a healer who decided that he was going to direct our dungeon run while I was tanking. Every time I laid down a marker on an enemy he’d move it to the ones he thought should be killed instead. -_-a That was one of the longest dungeon runs I’ve EVER had.
His friend was the 2nd party member so I couldn’t vote kick him, and I refused to just rage quit.
Player who reported me because of username.
Come to think of it, I don’t think I ever came across any bad or mean players. I did observe some from afar, but I never had to deal with them myself.
I guess the worst of the kind I saw was those bullying newbies. That was not nice.
I guess as an Anime lover the only way to describe this would be “kawaii” xD
Anyway that’s for the best i guess… let’s hope you don’t find your first one on ToS
julie! you should play ToS as one of the ordinary player, so that we can play with you and party with you, even guild with you. can’t even imagine the fun.
yeah i agree… but i think if she would actually be a normal player and let us know that… she’d lose all the fun of the game by how many party requests she’d get and the impossibility to play with everyone… but i agree it would be fun, i’d like the experience at least once
Wow, this is actually a very good idea.
In that case, I’ll let you know separately once I get the time to prepare for it.
Lol ok… i guess my comment was pointless then xD
Theres 1 with a special place on my memories, from a legendary server called EuphRo.
This dude leaded a mid-big guild and was without allies, rejected to ally us to make a better/proper fight against the dominating zerg alliance. (aka *** alliance) The awnser was that he was “aiming for neutrality with guildhopers-topguild”.
Of course we went and owned them a few times the very next war.
What anoyed me the most was the mediocrity, we could have had a lot of fun together, he choose not to out of “fear?” to guildhopers-topguild.
…i only would report you to the authoritys.
xD
But your name is a bit in the range, that you even seek that ^^.
You’re lucky then…
But bullying is really not good.
-.-
I hope our community will band against newbie bullys.
And generally anyone that’s a bit to far on the bulyying side.
Worst kind of buyyling lucky doesnt work here (atleast for newbies).
Healign and buffing up the enemies …
We had that in RO. Then it was added to the banable list.
“Do not Killsteal.”
“Do not steal loot.”
“Do not buff mobs.”
“Do not train mob and push them onto others”
Were the biggest 5 of these … after botting.
-.- i can remember that one guy. Moobing familars in payon cave 1.
Just right before the entrance.
These bats are weak … but a bunch of them hurt … when you’re just a low level user wanting to level up bit.
That cave was actually deadly to them … not how TOS tuturial areas work.
We had three people on a shift … to help them then.
Going in … killing the mobs at the entrance from time to time. Trying to catch a glimpse of the mobber, with some assasins and rouges going stealth inside the cave … in the end we got him banned after a few days.
Wasn’t the worst i had seen. But one that clearly sticks to the memory.
As much as the party everyone had at the stone mushrom at the payon cave, after we made it safe again.
Cave wa sfilled with newbies … mostly acolytes then xD. So meerry. We made a kongaline till the mvp… and helped the newbies that were in a level range wher ethey could do actual damage. Even MVP Moonlight flower … it only saddened me … that we need to kill that cute fox…
I remember those familiars
and I remember how many times I died to them. 10 year old me was not even aware of what was actually going on. I thought people were genuinely running away from them to not die or something. I never knew they were knowingly unleashing the wrath of the Zubats on lower level people.
Some did unknowingly too.
But it was “meh i dont want to fight them …” most times. And jus trunning into other people…
But a few is good …
imagine 20 to 30 of them all on that small entrance.
3 are already deadly to anyone below level 20. If they don’t have much health … duo low vit.
All right! Time for another story! Now, I’ve played a bunch of MMOs. I’ve seen the end-game of very few. I have my regrets, sure, but I have so many single player games that I love, and I would never give up the memories of, playing them instead of a single game.
This thread is lucky; that a lot of the worst players can still be met in the early areas of a game. This next story takes place long ago in EverQuest 2! Prepare for nostalgia! At the time I was playing a Mystic or Swashbuckler on my ratonga? I forget. There’s this place very early on in the game known as The Barrens. Yep, just like World of Warcraft. Both even have instances, in those areas, known as Wailing Caverns. We were there, I think, but it might’ve been another instance in the area. All I know is the place had ghosts, ruins of an underground civilization and whatnot.
We didn’t take too long to assemble the staple group. Some DPS, a tank and healer. Yet again, my horror story revolves around a tank! I don’t know why I can only remember the stories about these guys… This guy was worse than the previous one I mentioned. Not just because of his actions, but because of how we handled the situation. As we were getting ready, to start the instance, the tank decides to go for a quick shower.
We weren’t sure how to respond to something like this, so, I guess that’s why we suffered from a momentary lapse of reason and being fine with it. A bit miffed, but we were willing to wait it out. Every relationship comes with some form of compromise, right?
Those of us that weren’t showering took some time to chat, send other people tells, and I guess we bonded. The tank eventually came back and then we got going. From there it seemed like smooth sailing. But, I guess it’s kind of hard to ■■■■ up at such a low level? He seemed to manage it with some knack.
We were in a market (bazaar) full of ghosties when he had to go AFK again because “someone is at the door!”. This time he went away longer than when he went for the shower. And to top it off? He picked the worst spot to suddenly leave his character sitting. The ghosts inevitably respawned and we had to protect our tank, the one that should be protecting us!
When he got back, I was the first one that decided to risk the run, just to chew him out, for the crap he was pulling, and he got really pissed off about it. Cue him being all huffy and leaving our run, it being ruined…
.
.
.
…Only not! This story comes with a happy ending. We managed to get another tank, and we finished the place and an adjoining one. I even made a few friends from the experience we were subjected to. Even if we were partly responsible for putting up with it.
We don’t talk anymore, though, because I left EQ2 for other games. It’s had a lot of expansions since then. I’m sure, in that time, our bard, from the run, found some inspiration for a song based on that adventure and shared it with the server. Which was either Antonia Bayle or Lucan D’Lere. Both of which are RP servers.
Thanks for reading this far. I guess I’ll give a quick summary for those with ADHD or random cases of wife aggro.
TL;DR Our group forms and then the tank goes for a shower immediately after. He came back but felt the need to go AFK in a crowd of ghosts. We got hella mad and he rage quit. We called up the ghost busters and finished the run to some funky tunes.
OK so i guess it’s my turn to write down another story
This one is from quite a lot of years ago in an old mmo named Rappelz.
There was this american guy that was a racist to my nation’s peole (no i don’t have it against americans, in fact a lot of people i made friends with in RL and Online are american so… this really was a one time experience) and everytime he used to see one of us in game he started the “hunt” trying to kill us.
The PvP in this game was like: whoever wants to kill someone else just had to write “Pkon” and he would get his/her name red and get the ability to attack everyone else… but everyone else could also attack you. On top of that if you actually managed to kill a white name while in PK mode you had the “pkoff” command disabled for quite a lot of game time, so there was no “not using that character untill the red name goes off”.
Well anyway one day i logged in and i was bored and i saw this guy writing in world chat how people from other countries were idiots and stuff like that so i kind of took the chance to entertain myself a little bit.
SO i started to write something in world chat too knowing he knew my char nickname and he immediately took the bait and started to shout he was coing to kill me and stuff like that.
WHat i did was go into a “Hidden” part of one of the main crowded city and just sit down, then the “game” started… i acted like i was going to be prideful about it and just whispered him something like “oh so you’re going to kill me? come if you dare, i’m at (location)”.
What happened later was… he went to that location, didn’t find me cause i was sitting in the main city, whispered me about how i was a chicken… i answered him it was just that he was so damn slow and i just couldn’t wait for him for an eternity BUT he could catch up with me going into another place… repeat"
I actually had him go from one point to the opposite of the world map for about 1 hour and a half until i got tired and with my guildmates we did set up an umbush for him and that was it… but i got to admit it was quite entertaining to see such a high level of stupidity
Nothing much from the official server I’ve played aside from that one player who starved for attention so much, he went into lying, scamming, harassing, whoring himself out but nothing out of the ordinary.
But I do have multiple best dramas from private server. One of them that I remember quite well is a person with a troubled life. I believe he knocked up a girl before he left her and his son, rarely seen them too. Much like he don’t want to take responsibility. Back to the story, this guy came into the private server and began mocking every players he deemed not worthy of his kind. He even insulted the GM of that server too and always feel right about himself. Days after days, for some reasons I don’t even know why (even the universe was confused), he became the GM of that server.
Things took turn for the worse as he began manipulating people saying what is right and what is wrong in his very own perspective, creating a cult filled with dums dums who believed, such as his private server doesn’t against the law while other private server is, even the official server he said is against the law.
Besides that, he wanted to make a harem of his own. Many times, and I do mean many times, he tried to seduce many girls inside the server and if the girl refuses, he would do things like spreading lies about the girl, or if the girl has a boyfriend in that server, he abused his GM power to ban that boyfriend.
Funny enough, other GM’s seemed to don’t mind, or they’re just being hypnotized by his bald head.
