Worst player ever met in an mmorpg?

you made me remember something that happened to me on TERA. I was in this dungeon run with some random guys, i was the tanker, and we were up against a boss.

happens at times that the healer gets aggro from a boss due to aggro resets and stuff and, i recall beeing common knowledge that, when it happens, the smartest thing to do is run circles around the tank giving him chance to aggro the boss/mob again.

This healer tho started to run away thus giving me no chance to retake the aggro and after a certain distance the boss just reset to full health and everything have to start over.

No matter how many times we explained this to her she just kept running away and resetting the boss to the point everyone, after the 4th time of this happening, just said to hell with that dg run and logged off

Had a guy that wouldn’t use his DoTs on FFXIV. He was a summoner. I stopped to explain potency to him and how DoTs work and even how they twist… But he wasn’t buying it.

He just did Ruin and Energy Drains for the whole dungeon… Other DPS did 3-4 times his damage… I doubled it as the healer. He had gear.

Skill facepalm has leveled up…
seriously, thats the basic of mmos dont run away from bosses, strong mobs or rare mobs or the mistical domain heal happens…

MMORPG?

When someone went into Clocktower as Novice … and was complaining that the monsters in this game are to hard.

MOBA?

Primeworld … i don’t need to say anything more.
But for the heck of it. Primeworld was somewhat fun, i played 120 hours on the NA Version. In beta times. Then we merged with Russia … Ugghhhaha!
As we had rankpoints around 1600 being UPPER playerbase … we got grouped with the eqvilanet of an -200 player at russian 1600 rank.

90% of the NA playerbase simply quit. Some play still, as they managed to get in the upper raks with level groups… Where russians with skill are 2500+.

But if you want to do it solo … or even in group.
It’s about 100 or 200 matches timespent, till youre in an skill rank where you will feel comfortable. And then still russian people will ragequit or spam you with insults so often …

What was the most stupid thing i have ever seen there?
Russian players running into towers … over 30 times. Then saying we are cheating, he can’t get to us!

… brain cramps that day i quit it for real. Went back last january for one single match. Didn’t even know how to move or use camera anymore… died 3 times… Got shouted at in broken englisch i should die. Sayign sorry, getting used to it again. After 5 minutes, i was into it again. 10 Minutes later … 73:3:0 K/D/A. Russian enemys ragequited and the game ended at 20ish mins, before i could kill they’re base solo … and that was after 1 year or so of absent. In the 2000ish rank area… where i even didn’t had ā€œgood customizaitonā€. Aka i was weaker then everyone else… from build alone.

Worst game ever…

Since we’re talking about ragequitting i’d like to share a video i made quite a long time ago… music tells it all xD

Yeah. Rank D.

He wants to keep that.
Quit= Save your rank points xD.

But yes, how often had i ragequiter sin Pokemon fights… or in mobas.
Or even in partys in MMORPGS… kids. Immature adults with the mind of a kid.

Funny thing is i always sucked bad at SF4 xD

I’m not a big fan of MOBA myself specifically because of the community… the only one i play sometimes… very rare times… it’s heroes of the storm because it’s somewhat casual.

In that MOBA i only found a player trying to shittalk the whole team in a training match… so i just told him ā€œsince you’re so good go grab your friend and do a ranked match or shut the hell upā€ and that was the end of it :stuck_out_tongue:

Almost everyone who plays Conquer Online. That game is the troll center of the universe.

can we have an example? :open_mouth:

Reminds me of this little drama about eBAR-cIAW in SFV, basically some top 10 ranked player (who hit rank 1 at some point) who managed to get there by ragequitting a lot

I love how blunt the ragequits look, in this game
Nice 31 win streak m8

Ok, let me set up an example…

Me: Grinding through 2nd reborn quest in a PvP zone where there is a 5 minute spawn timer on a monster I need to kill 17 more times for required quest items.

Another Player shows up, says: ā€œHey, let’s camp this spawn and work together, we can take turns killing the monsterā€

Me: ā€œSure, better than fighting over the spawn and wasting time.ā€
I give the other player the first spawn of the monster in good faith, let him kill it and take the item, and we talk about where we are from, what we do for work, etc… He’s from Egypt, he’s got a big family, etc. etc. Add to friends list.

Monster spawns again.

I get the monster down to it’s last 10k hp, the other player burst dps me to death, kills the monster, takes the item, and says ā€œF**k off and die u noob LOLOLOLā€

Me: …

Toxic community, tons of backstabbers that will PK you out of nowhere after pretending to make friends, people infiltrating your guild just so sabatoge you, people trolling and stonewalling the most important quests in the game to prevent your progress… the list goes on and on…

All right, I guess I’ll share a few stories. Apologies in advance for the double posting! Don’t murder me @Staff_Julie (I love you! :seedling: :chipmunk:)

Back when I was playing FFXIV:ARR, before Heavensward was even announced, I was doing a group run in Brayflox’s Longstop. A level 30-ish raid required for the main story. It’s harder (I find) for things to go wrong when there’s only 4 people. Especially when the other DPS is your Love-That-Can-Never-Be.

So, she’s a Black Mage (easy mode) and I’m a Monk. That leaves us with the Healer and Tank. Neither of whom we knew beforehand. Faiyte(The BLM) and I had a habit of alternating between putting up marks to coordinate our encounters. It was her turn this raid to be doing it. Unfortunately, the Tank isn’t coordinated. Even with us doing part of his job for him.

He’s very, very silent and this becomes a problem the further in we go. Until we’re about to do a mini-boss and I hatch a delightfully treacherous plan. We want to confirm whether or not the Tank is reading party chat. I tell Faiyte and the Healer (Remember: in the parties chat. Easy to see) that we’re going to murder the Tank by proxy. Running in, to engage the mini-boss, and then running back out before the room gets sealed. Trapping the tank by himself with the mini-boss. If this plan works, then he isn’t reading chat. Because he would have known.

So we go and do the dirty deed and it works perfectly. The three of us are just standing behind the gate 15 seconds later and watching FOR SCIENCE! as the Tank gets gradually murdered by a mini-boss.

Now came the next part. Which was sort of an improvisation and not actually planned out ahead of time. When the Tank respawned and came back, we just /pointed and /laughed at him ad nauseam. This is when he finally deigns to speak in chat and tell us about how mature (sarcasm) we are. He’s not a bot. He’s an actual player that just chose not to read the chat in a co-operative dungeon because he doesn’t see the importance in it.

After a few minutes we all decide to scrap this run and start over. That’s the last we saw of that guy. You need to keep in mind this game is also available on the PS3 and PS4. Now and then you get someone; without a keyboard. This wasn’t one of those guys. This guy just wants to play the game like a single-player RPG… and we might as well just be quirky NPCs to him. Some people…

I’ll tell more stories later if there’s any demand. To summarize this story: Tank wasn’t reading chat so the Healer and DPS conspired to have him murdered. Lols were had.

Sooo… i guess this makes everyone in the part the ā€œworst playerā€? xD

I, for one, absolutely loved your story. I was always a solo player (not to mention that I played only a handful of titles in my life), so happenings like this are very entertaining to me. Thank you for tagging me.

now that you’re here we want YOUR story about the worst player you’ve ever met! Of as a player and not as a staff memeber :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh gosh, I’ve had a lot of experiences that are entertaining more than horrible. I think one of the more unpleasant ones wasn’t bad in the way these are.

Like many games, the game I was playing at that time which I will not name, there was cross server dungeon queuing. I’d queued up for a hard mode instance with my best bud, his fiance, and a couple of guildies for this. They assure me it’s not hard and I’m a great healer so we’ll be fine even with me not having any info whatsoever on this fight at all because LOL funtimes.

When I loaded in…my freakin ex fiance was the other healer.

We died repeatedly.
I swear it wasn’t on purpose.
But we died about 2-3 times. Which was reasonable since my ex had this habit of having to be THE healer.

He proceeded to lecture me on it. And how to be a better healer blah blah blah. I know he meant well because… well I know him.

But it was awful.
I switched classes and haven’t healed much since then.
