World chat system abuse prevention

I haven’t play the game yet but I want to make sure 100% that there going to be a option to limit world chat or trade chat that can message everyone for fear of gold sellers, spammers, and etc. So I just want to write a list of suggestions for it.

  1. Have a level limit in place before you can use something like a trade chat or world chat. (A level that would take at least 3-5 hours to reach)
  2. A way to report gold sellers, spammers, and other devious website for stuff on the chat window (they tend to hide if they could avatar wise)
  3. Have a in-game GM monitor for that activity or a system where enough players report that it get sent to a GM, Administer, or a system that will pop up a menu they have to close with a mouse click that pops up random spots on the screen in order to chat again. (restrict numbers of times a player can report to prevent abuse. Sorry, i seen people abuse this system in other games i played)
  4. Put a cool down time before a player next message. (5-10 sec)
  5. A message block for repeated message (limit it to 2 or 3 times in a row).
  6. A system to block certain player individually(normally already added I know)
  7. A history report of previous party members of gold sellers, bots, hackers, and etc. (they might have one that help power level them thru to that level like a connection report if like one guy level up 3 different confirm bots)(Yes I know this one is differently hard and nearly impossible to do without a lot of time, effort or money to build this program)
  8. Restrict certain words (www, w w w, goldseller, golds4iL4r, and etc.)

These are ways to do it in other games I played. I just want developers to know before it get to Open beta and it became a huge problem first week. If others have a suggestion about this for developers please post it in comments. Also what you guys like and don’t like about my suggestion to the developers(I set up numbers so it easier for you guys to say like you like 1, 2, 5, and hate 3 and 4 kind of thing). This is just a fan waiting for the ultimate game to come out and still haven’t have chance to play it yet.

It looks great ways to prevent the abuse.

I will have it relayed to devs to make a more effective chat system before OBT.

also consider removing or having a toggle for the word filter. I don’t see why it would be necessary to censor words like suck, unless this game was intended for kids like club penguin :penguin:

I’m sure the community is mature enough to not be offended by cusswords, assuming they’re used in the correct context and not being used to attack someone

the toggle would be great for those who just don’t like them, as well as the few who are actually children playing (I’ve read a few threads where parents play with their kids)

Oh, no. The word i meant being censor and block is like goldseller, www, and etc. Those words that means ways to go to dubious websites.
