World Boss co-operation

Hey All, just wondering why when it comes to world boss hunting, people have the mentality to rush kill the Boss when there are less than 5 top tier DPS or parties with such DPS around to kill it. Usually this happens for lower level bosses like Cerberus where there are 2 or 3 lvl 260+ Archers killing the boss in 2 minutes preventing anyone else still looking for Cerberus to reach and contribute.
As has become common knowledge now, the Cubes drop for the top 5-6 DPS players and are also given to the players in their parties too meaning if each party shared 1 of the top tier DPS each then 25-30 players would get cubes. So with the current way people are doing things at least on the server I am in… sometimes 2 or 3 people just kill it without giving anyone else a chance, dropping onl 2-3 cubes which wastes cubes as potentially 30 cubes can drop. Why waste and deny people the other 27-28 cubes? Since they found the boss first and already contributed greatly to the DPS, they could slow down a bit and delay the kill for maybe 2-3 minutes to give others who are still running to get chance on remaining un-assigned cubes that could’ve dropped.
I understand the necessity to rush the boss (usually the higher level ones) where alot more than 20 people (and more than 5 top tier dps) compete over but for those that lack competition why can’t people be a little more considerate =/.
In the efforts to try encourage co-operation among people I hope that will read this, I just want to suggest for those bosses that lack heavy competition, try help out a few people that are also putting work in to search for the boss by inviting them to party, spread out the DPS so that 5-6 parties can claim the cubes rather than just 1 or 2 parties from hardcore guilds. Try take only 1 top tier DPS in your party and fill the other 4 slots with support/tanks or if you have more than 1 top tier DPS coming with you, maybe you could split your party (as long as you can confirm it’s safe for you to do so without losing your cube when competition is low) and invite the other people who lack parties or have low DPS. If this is already being done by some people, thanks for your hard work and consideration, co operation and considerate play is always appreciated. I am not sure if world boss co-operation will ever become a trend but if it does, it’d make the game a lot more fun.

A lot of people just don’t care and don’t want to wait for others. To be honest, I was never able to find any low level world bosses because there is always some 200+ player killing them off. I’m having problems upgrading my Temple Shooter since the only way to get cards are from dungeons and world bosses. Probably just got 10x worst since the monster card equip. I wonder sometimes do these high level players kill the world bosses regardless of the 8hr debuff timer just to deny other players.

Best thing to do is join guild or make some friends to help out with world boss hunting.

The problem is that it’s actually the lower level bosses that have the most competition (because they are the most profitable), and thus you are forced to go all out.

Higher level bosses (280 demon lords) are not competitive and need cooperation between parties. Usually people will even swap DPS before the boss dies so that everyone present can get a cube.

Can’t really add much more than has been said, but as someone suggested, joining a guild is definitely your best bet. My archer isn’t max level, but as a QS3/Wu2/Musket that’s 242, I almost always still land in top DPS to get a cube for most world bosses I’ve done. When I find one or hear of one, I’ll always tell my guild and have people come along who might not be able to get into top dps themselves so as they get to share in the cubes. Honestly though, if you do run into one, it never hurts to ask for a party invite. I’ve definitely run into bosses and had less than a full party, or no party, and would invite random people around just to help “share the wealth” since it costs me nothing and helps another person out.

The fact is, though, ultimately, if you want to hunt world bosses, the safest bet is having a world boss hunting character yourself. In an ideal world, there would be more cooperation, but the problem is, everyone is looking out for themselves, so of course if I run into a boss that has 2 other archers mowing it down, I’m gonna join them and start bursting it down too because I don’t want to miss out on that cube, and if you’re the first one on the scene, you want to start dpsing to ensure your cube in case a strong party comes along. As they are now, at least the lower level bosses don’t really open themselves up to cooperation, the only saving grace is the 8 hour debuff timer to help give more people a chance.

Scarcity-based economy. The fewer cubes that are distributed to players, the more valuable the contents of those cubes are. It’s profitable to monopolize bosses. Denying others their drop is in fact worth more than getting the drop yourself, which is why people crashed channels to mess with spawn timers even though it meant delaying the boss’s spawn (meaning less potential cubes for them) just to mess up the timing of other groups.

In a world where people cooperated gear would be more readily available for everyone, and the guys that farm the most would still have the edge because they’ve now got more disposable income for attributes. But that’s not the world we live in, least of all in online games where the stakes are low and morality isn’t really a factor anyone considers.
