Word Censor toggle on/off

The word censor is waaaayyy too ridiculous for example “class” is censored due to “a ss” and “I was tired up at work” would get censored due to “tied up”

but I’m not just here to complain about it. In fact I think there is a very simple solution already invented by many other modern era mmorpgs.

Just have an option to turn censoring on/off so that people who are offended by bad words have something to protect them, and those that don’t care can turn it off. Maybe keep censorship in the shout channel for obvious reasons but in private party chat with friends it just is an inconvenience to have entire messages censored out by accident.

No one wants to just switch to using an outside program to message each other and shouldn’t have to.

I know there were other topics like this but I didn’t see any for the suggestions.

Please consider this, thanks !

tl;dr but yes please the censor is outrageously strict. Tired of whole sentences getting lost for a stray ass or tit in a word.

The most annoying thing is, that the whole text you write will be entirely censored if you accidently wrote an ‘offending’ fracture of a word. So I found me several times write the sentence word for word… again and again… just to find what the filter did not like this time. Only in shout chat merely the word is censored (if I’m not mistaken). I guess it’s because of the megaphone costs.

I would instantly turn this filter off if possible, because its not helpfull at all but annoying as hell. People who want to offend could just write it T H I S way or t.h.a.t anyway… :unamused:

I already do this when I want to avoid the censor. Typing like “sh it” or “cla ss” just to avoid it. I think that’s a good point that the current system doesn’t stop anyone anyway.

yes please, i personally hate having censors. And as other people noted it doesn’t stop anyone anyways’

I join on this,

tried to explain my party member for 5 mins that i was in the church basement (ba-semen-t)
and all he saw was two asterisks :confused:
took me some time to finally find the problem.

happened a few other times with more words.

please try to change it to filter just the “bad” word itself and not when its part of a larger word and also please don’t censor the whole sentence that way we can see what word is problematic and attempt to use an alternate word.
