Woes of the battle cleric. Please help

Story time with Feo /rant/

So I came back to the game after a 6 month break to having all these amazing new changes ohmygod. So I hopped onto my old c3priest>c1monk hopped into a dungeon and felt completely useless since blessing has no attack limit now. Well I had a free re-rank so I went with the popular C2cleric>c2priest>monk since people were raving about it.100 levels later at c3monk I feel awful. Its amazing at first and I can out dps anyone against a boss, if that boss lives for only 30 seconds until I run out of sp. Killing regular mobs is a chore since my AA’s feel usless and DP just eats through sp. Not to mention my wonderful supporty heals do nothing. Feels like a waste of sp I could use to dps with.

So time for something new that doesn’t eat through sp. I’ve liked pally for a long time and with the new ability it looks interesting.

FULL STR

So heres where I started. Looking through a bunch of pally inq guides this popped into my head.
Cleric 2 to feel like a support with a bit of healing.
Diev will help the group aswell as lower CD’s and help with the sp a lot.
Pally3 of course focusing on the damage skills with Resto combining with statue to hopefully eradicate the sp problem.
Monk is a filler I’ll talk about it later, main used for DP filler
Inq for god smash and wheel for aoe
Zealot for that juicy fanaticism burst with all the bigger cd’s.

So I’ve seen a lot of builds running monk for sustained damage. But they all run c1 priest in rank 3 only for monsterance then dump a ton of points into dex to make dp actually good. But at that point wouldn’t you have the same sp problems and end up never using your other skills outside of maybe godsmash and wheel?

I like the idea of monk for the sustained damage but ONLY as filler. I know if I’m looking for damage monk 3 would overpower everything but humor me. But even at that is monk needed? With all the overheats and adding carve attack into the mix it doesn’t seem like getting cd locked would happen too much especially with the help of statue for the lowered cd’s. Which opens room in rank 7 for maybe Diev2 since I hear owl is really good or maybe oracle. If someone could give me advice and opinions on the rank 7 that’d be lovely. Monk might end up winning out just for dp spam as filler which I’m not against I love monk.

Also opinions on Zealot vs Inq2? is the small bonus damage on god smash worth the loss of 30% damage buff? I have no idea how good Judgement is since people only seem to put 1 point into it.

If you read through my massive wall of text I love you and you’re awesome. Sorry for the wall of text and how rambly this has been but the help is much appreciated.

I doubt you will eradicate the SP problem. PalInquisitor eats a lot of SP. In general you deal with SP issues by using SP pots (sometimes several kinds at the same time), with bonus SPR on gear or even stats, and you also need a great base weapon. Great damages = you don’t need to spam your skills and waste SP.

No, Owls are bad. It’s stationary and you need to carve them, I wouldn’t recommend them for a moving build like yours or any build without Miko. Especially at Diev 2 only. Your Owls would just be a filler to deal extra damages, but it’d be a bad filler. Also Owls use MATK and SPR for damages.
Oracle is better for PvP.
For your SP issues, your best R7 filler is Kabbalist. You regen all your SP for free every 60s (48s with Laima).
Also, Restoration 10 isn’t really useful, leveling Restoration only increases your HP regen, not the SP one.

Inquisitor 2 isn’t really good at the moment… It’s mostly a PvP class. It’s not terrible, but going circle 2 won’t bring anything great, even for the extra damages. So people usually go Inqusitor 1 or even simply instead take Zealot 1 and 2.

Sorry, I feel the text a bit confusing. Like you said the monk is filler but it seems that you really want it. So, which kind of build are you looking for? Which part of game do you consider fun or feel worth your time and effort?

I agree with @Goldie about Inq and Zealot. Probably you can have an Inquisitor due its burn attribute.

If you want damage, you should go Krivis/Druid/Taoist. Zealot is good too.

In my experience, you’re going to find yourself cooldown locked at some point no matter what you do. If that bothers you (As it does me) then Monk is a great choice. The tricky part is balancing the potential Double Punch spam against what need you have for a different class choice.

In terms of your build, I’d probably ditch Monk for Kabba1 since Ein Sof will help you deal with the SP issue. Alternatively, you could drop 100 points in SPR (Or get it from gear) and just keep a good stack of SP pots with you. They’re so cheap that it really doesn’t hurt to have them anyway.

In terms of pure numbers, no. Fanaticism increases all of your outgoing damage. Judgement only boosts God Smash so once you hit the overheat, that bonus is useless. Having tried both Zealot (1 & 2) and Inq1, I prefer Zealot but they both have their ups and downs.
