Wizard or Pyromancer?

Hi, I have been checking all the infos out there, and I am stuck on shoosing between Wiz>Wiz>Wiz>ELe>Ele>ele or Wiz>Pyro>Pyro>Ele>Ele>Ele.

any insights?

Wiz C3 would give you quick cast for Ele skills, better reflect shield if you want, casts spells for sure even when hit, has the only earth AoE I’ve seen so far.

Pyro C2 gives you just more damage… like a LOT of damage. Fire Pillar for stationary enemies (not sure if stone curse allows you to hit them while they are petrified or not), fire wall gives you massive damage or some CC if you’re going for PvP or GvG since they would have to take damage to go through the fire, Fire Ball just to play some tennis

For Wizard 3, Elementalist 3…

  • You have Quick Cast and Surespell, which helps with cast time of Energy Bolt and Meteor.
  • Earthquake is pretty good for stalling mobs as it makes them fly up.
  • Higher levels of Reflect Shield means more defense.
  • Higher levels of Sleep = longer duration.

Pyromancer 2, Elementalist 3…

  • You gain more DPS skills.
  • Fireball is spammable due to its short cooldown and 2 uses. It also can inflict burn via an Attribute. Also, if you have a Psychokino as a partner, combining Fireball with Telekinesis and Psychic Pressure may produce some interesting results…
  • Firewall was pretty powerful in CBT2.
  • Enchant Fire gives you a “double attack” like buff, where the second hit is Fire element.
  • Fire Pillar is good at stalling mobs as it also lifts them.
  • The following spells are still active after you cast them: Fireball, Firewall, Fire Pillar, Hail, Prominence, and Rain. Now imagine all of them being active at once… :smiling_imp:

Quick cast just isn’t worth it unless you’re with a dievdirbys with a maxed laima carve. The damage from releasing all the fire spells would pretty much double what your elementalist alone can do.

If it’s true that Linker’s Joint Penalty will do max damage to all linked enemies and you can abuse it with AoE spells then maybe a Wiz C2 > Linker > Elem C3 would be a strong build.

I think that Pyro gives a ton of nuke potential while Wiz gives you sustained damage with Magic Missiles being at 17s CD and Earthquake being at 30s CD.

what happens when you use pschic pressure on fire ball?

If you want max dmg output, then go the glass cannon route (Pyromancer), this would be useful if you intend to party alot, so you don’t have to tank the mobs yourself. Otherwise, if you plan on going solo most of the time, a route with decent CC (crowd control) will be more favorable.

P.S. on a more biased note, i think the cryo-ele combo is pretty neat since you can have mobs disabled whilst casting your ele nukes…

:smile_cat:

EDIT:
So i just realized you weren’t trying to compare pyro with cryo. Derp…
But I’d plead to keep my post anyways… :crying_cat_face: haha

Pyromancer, because he has great power to quickly destroy an enemy!

i PREFER PYROMANCER BOOOOOOM

Remember guys that Pyromancer and Elementalist is nerfed in CBT3. It was too Op.

Pyromancer for enchant fire

It’s a similar effect when using it on Ice Wall. Missiles will start shooting in all directions.

Pyro is probably the more popular route because fireeeeee.

If you go the wizard route, earthquake seems to be the only earth element skill we know so far, could be really useful for certain bosses maybe? Plus you don’t necessarily have to go for wizard circle 3. You can take linker circle 1 at rank 3 for the linked damage skill for maximum aoe output for your long cooldown Elementalist skills. Linker rank 1 also has some other nice utility skill that can go a long way. Of course taking psychokino rank 1 would be nice too for the utility (teleport and swap.)

is there video of that somewhere incase you know

I’m not aware of any videos that showcase it, but I have personally done this myself.

wow nerfed? specifically what skill? now Im more interested

Is the enchant for normal attack only or every skill will have addtnl fire atr or dmg?

Definetly Wizard

Thanks for all the replies!

I’m still undecided though. I thought Wizard would be a smarter choice, but you guys made me mor intrested with pyromancer now.

I personally love fire element, it’s just that I was thinking if it was worth not having certain wizard skills for it.
