I’m considering replacing Ele3 in the standard with Necro1. With the new AoE cap on Frost Cloud, I want to sub in a Quickcast buffed Flesh Cannon, and use the Shoggoth as additional dmg/meatshield.
Thoughts?
PS. I’m also considering replacing Ele2 with Sorc, though I’m a bit less sure about that at this point.
Also, here is the damage loss on Ele from losing c3:

Freezing Sphere gets only 1pt in Ele3, but we can spare more for it in Ele2, so it hits harder.
So basically, you lose some damage on Electrocute, some dmg/duration on Hail, and Frost Cloud. You gain Freezing Sphere damage, Flesh Cannon, Flesh Hoop, and Necro pet. (Does anyone know the damage formulas? Do these dmg losses get increased by anything besides Quickcast 50%?)
I have never played Elementalist or Necro before, I’m very curious what people with experience think. The numbers seem reasonable for making the Necro choice.
By doing this you are not only missing out on frost cloud, but you are losing rains ability to multiply your electrocutes final damage by 35%
