I know Pyro 3>Chrono c3 is pretty great, so I might just do that instead. Is lock worth taking at all over chrono 3?
Or should I go a whole new path entirely?

Quite honestly, although I haven’t reached rank 7 yet, I get the feeling that warlock is so popular because people are hoping that it’ll get good later, not that it’s very good right now as a c1.
I’d say if you want chrono 3, go ahead and get it, as pass is always terrific.
As for other options, you can probably fit in any mix of the summoning classes (sorc+necro) anywhere you wanted as they’re pretty standalone, as well as a circle or two of linker would help with both party and solo play. If you really want synergy, perhaps the best option would be thaumaturge, as their static +damage buffs would work well with pyro’s multihits. However, most don’t like thaumaturge because their buffs are flat increases, scaling worse at the higher levels.
chrono 3, don’t pass up on pass, otherwise linker
LinkerC2 > Featherfoot?
If not, chrono 3 might work like others suggested.
