Without trade, the community is non-existant

So far, this trade lock has me worried on a few things.

  1. I’m playing with a few friends of mine. Items are dropped by enemies, such as weapons that I cannot use, but they can. Because of the loot options available, its not possible to give items we don’t need to our friends who were in the same party when found.

These trade blocks are hindering party play for me and my friends which is already turning us off on the game since there seems no reason to party and do group content together (or even general grinding) if we can’t help each other.

  1. I want to become an Alchemist. With all the trade bans and market limitations, what’s the point anymore? If I want to sell potions, I’m very limited in my ability to do that. I can’t even give Potions to my friends if I wanted. What about Item Awakening? I can do my own items, but I can’t do my friends because I can’t initiate the Item Awakening? Or Briquetting? or Magnum Opus?

If the trade conditions don’t change for the better, I doubt my friends and I will be playing this game at all, since without trade, everyone can only play for themselves. Party play is reduced to playing alone but sharing exp since items cannot be shared, and they cannot effectively help each other.

Even if you wanted to help someone out, you can’t. Here’s some silver, here’s some potions, etc, but you’re not allowed. So because people can’t, people wont offer it. Nobody helps anybody because its not possible to. Therefore, everyone can only play for themselves.

Community is kind of a big part of MMORPGs. As it is now, its heavily split by people who do play and people who don’t. Even then, people who do pay have severe limitations as to what they can trade and how often. This is ridiculous and frankly disgusting.

To add, since personal shops for buying items is also gone, how should I get my materals? Most players will have only 1 sell slot for the market, so they’ll most likely not sell items that will not garner some worth to them, meaning crafting materials wll probably not be there.

I can’t even set up a shop to buy the items I need myself from other players. This means I have to farm the items myself just so I can make potions for myself…

This is getting worse and worse.

Yeah, the lack of trading is bumming me out and only harms the playerbase, not the theoretical goldsellers (who aren’t gonna be turned off by the ridiculous $18 required to make a meagre 30 trades so long as they make enough profit). The most fun I had in the ICBT2 was grinding out gifts for friends and sharing cool but class-inappropriate loot, and I’m sure not gonna be doing any of that now.

I do feel really really handicapped not being able to trade with my friends

I really hope that they revert the changes about trading. I play with my SO and we can not be on at the same time most of the time. It is helpful that he and I are able to freely trade with each other whenever we are trying to help each other with gear or materials.

They need to allow trade because the game will die. Not only that but the market is ridiculous as well. It takes 30mins to place an Item in there and takes 48hours to retrieve the silver? What incentive to I have to play this game at all right now? I can’t make money and I can’t share with friends. iCBT2 was a superior game by far. And it was a closed beta.

Registering your item and waiting for a ridiculous amount of time for you to retrieve your silver is RIDICULOUS.

It should be faster, and with no Tokens, the player should have a maximum amounts of trade (probably 2 or 3 a day) acording to what the developers wants.

“According to what the developers want” is why we’re in this predicament in the first place. What they want is wrong. What they need to do is give us our economy back.

I already said this in another thread but, I still think I’m right.

This game is a Massive Multiplayer Online Game.
Which means that you are bound to meet other players, play together, for dungeons and such but even for quests, farming…
AND, of course, TRADING. But here trading is not just any other activity. It’s important for all other activities…

Playing with a friend? Can’t exchange items you drop for his class.
Playing in a guild? Cannot exchange anything to help the guild progress.
Doing a dungeon? Well, that guy got the sword you want… Nope, sorry he can’t give it to you.

I could give a few more examples but that’s not the point.

The point is : Being unable to trade directly between player is utter bullshit.

They could, at least, do like some other games do and Give a Status to players.

There are other games where trade is disabled until you spend any amount of currency in the shop or to buy In-Game Currency (Like TP)

There is a need here, to find a better solution than disabling the direct player to player trade option.

This absurd that … Play free trade not vip is bad, but it is to survive but evil. But selling only one item in the auction and even wait 24 hours-48 hours to receive money is a big nonsense. The game has a proposal to be played with friends and how you will make changes or sell things if the game is to force you to premium … Please review this concept because if it continues April 28 many people will stop playing or not going to start …

This is also one of my biggest issues. I feel like I’m being punished, or shunned, for wanting to play with my friends.

Your right. We are effectively being punished for playing with friends. In an Online game. Which is why the game will die. Sooner or later, each person playing by himself will realize, there is nothing left to do alone, and wander off bored.

There may be a handful of people who enjoy solo grinding to lv500 and showing off their phat loot that they earned all by themselves through having way too much time(except there won’t be anyone to show them to and no one else really cares anyway), but that small handful isn’t enough to sustain the game indefinitely.

Damn right. I have started playing with some of my friends and we can´t exchange items that are better for…

ToS developers need to see this point… We play to have fun and make friends.

m8 this is only the begging , this will get much worse. They might give you trading back, but they will do 2 more questionable decisions at the exact same time they do 1 good one. Mark my words.

One of my biggest issues with the game right now aswell, let me trade with my friends! It feels so anti-social at the moment. :frowning: I feel like im being punished for wanting to cooperate with my friends and help them get things they might want!

Let’s hope not.
I’ve been waiting for this game too long.

I haven’t started playing TOS but been waiting and eyeing it for some time.
But now that this has become an issue in game, I’m gonna adopt a wait-and-see stance…

Freedom to trade is a pretty basic and essential component of online gameplay. I wonder how they came to the conclusion that implementing severe restriction on this aspect can be beneficial in any way.
Why not charge tokens for every 1000 steps a char takes in game?

And that 30% tax in auction? Did they made a mistake with that extra 0??:expressionless: 3-5% is an acceptable rate.
30%…

They really need to review their monetization strategy for the game, as well as understand their target user base better. This is a F2P game right? Or is it a stealth P2P game?
