This solution, while better than no 1:1 trading at all (almost anything is), still puts unnecessary restrictions on the user for no real benefit.
1. Your system is overly complex
If I understand this correctly, you place an item in a “box” and anyone on your friends list can withdraw it for a cost of iLvl*100 silver?
So, there is no way to specify which friend you are trying to give this item to? Any friend can go and take an item out as long as they are fast enough? That seems like it is just asking for trouble.
Wouldn’t you get the same effect from simply restricting 1:1 trading to towns when you don’t have a token, and putting a tax on 1:1 trading?
2. This does nothing to address bots
Adding a tax to trades does nothing really to prevent a bot from trading. Placing a restriction of only allowing 1 trade before the item becomes account-bound also doesn’t stop a bot from trading items (you can just sell the item to a RMT buyer directly from your bot account).
3. Limiting the number of boxes will also not make finding bots easier
The trade logs will have just as many lines and just as much info.
while better than no 1:1 trading at all (again, almost anything is), still has some problems. You are still putting unnecessary restrictions on users for no real benefit.
A repeat gold buyer could friend a gold seller for 90 days (or less). This would be annoying, but I doubt it would stop them.
This system doesn’t stop bot farms, or amateur botters, that have friended their main account for 90 days (or less) from transferring all their loot/silver to that main.
You can’t help your friend, or that random newbie you met, without waiting up to several weeks (at which point they may not need your help as much)
How about enabling Trading at level 50 or 80…etc…a decently high level that will take work for sellers to get to…which at the end, not worth the bother, assuming they get banned quickly enough to make a a decent amount worth the leveling grind.
or you can only trade with people 10 levels lower or higher than you. While trading won’t start till lvl 40…
but if one bot is found and proven that he is doing RMT to the client then both are ban. and from that bot they can check the list for suspected bots that is there for 90 days.
this is only my suggestion towards the 1:1 trading disabled to free users. it has restriction yes but like you said it is better than no 1:1 trading. so either they wait patiently to increase the limitation in trading silver and item or buy a token to remove or further increase the limit (3-4x than the usual)
although it is a possibility, i doubt a repeat gold buyer would buy again after 30 days most likely they would remove them after trading to think that there would be no trace.
the limit will reset every week so it will take time for them to transfer all the silver and item and by that time IF IMC is really finding bots, they would have already ban them.
for me my suggestion is effective ONLY IF IMC works hard at dealing with bots. if they can find a bot every now and then they could investigate everyone on the friend list also to make it more faster in banning them.
not unless they cant find any bots for like a month then that would be troublesome for the company.
the time when you need the most help is only at the start and 10k silver is enough as a starting cash for potions since some weapons are given by doing quest. like k.kubiak94 said on late game only item matters the most and silver wont be much of a problem unless that person instant upgrade his skills which would really take most of your money.
and the limit is per person not globally. so if that person has a friend that is there for 90 days and another one who’s also a 90 day then he can trade with them 1m silver each and not only 1m per week
or we go back to the basic suggestion and just enable 1:1 trading and IMC should just work really hard in finding bots cuz really, you cant stop bots from doing their business, only suppress them for a while
They disabled that in kTOS and I’m 99% sure they’re disabling that here too. Leaving it enabled would be 100% going backwards, since this would enable Bots to RMT easily by giving their clients a time and location on where to meet to do the transaction and the Botter doesn’t even need to be present to finish it.
Hopefully all these posts on the forums about ideas and suggestions lets them know that they need to give up and just release 1:1 from the Token. With the limitations already on it, it’s not even about fighting bots anymore-- it’s about making the Token itself look more attractive to the players so we’ll get a bigger urge to buy it.
Its not complex! I took a while to explain it, the explanation is complex, not the system itself, its as easy as right clicking on player, selecting trade, and doin it “on go!” . The only real change is that everybody benefits from this, not only players AND you get 3rd party involved (here NPC) which will regulate trade in terms of speed and area and might work as a radar for GMs to search and ban suspects. GMs wont even have to go thru all " logs" only of those who abuse this feature in certain window of time. And it will be easier since that outlaw needs to stand there all the time, it pins them down.
The only friends who will be able to withdraw the item are the ones who follow your actions and are in the same place as you… so stop this silly assumption that it will be mess since everybody can withdraw without your control… its just looking for a problems. And why not add visibility for friend under certain name. That simple.
If you “simply” enable 1:1 trade, it will only benefit players, there is no incentive for devs to do so. Btw, what would your tax be? 30%? Are you new to this issue? THATS what ppl cry about, the tax on TP is too high for free to play accounts. In the same time 10% with token brings this P2W sensation which ppl hate even more than 30% tax.
" 2. This does nothing to address bots Adding a tax to trades does nothing really to prevent a bot from trading. I do adress it, pay attention.
they get no silver since silver trade is still restricted
making this item soulbound will discourage players from buying items purely in order to sell them and aquire silver in exchange.
no new account is going to withdraw decent equipment since it costs money, and by the time they can afford Lv.600 sword they should be discouraged by possibility of ban, or, they will alrdy have what they wanted to withdraw.
i left place for some tweaks here : " only between friends/guildies/ based on account age/ item lvl cap which prevents new accounts from trading high-end gear… whatever Devs consider necessary". This will basically prevent bots and gold sellers from creating new accounts and selling immediately. They will for example need certain age to trade/trade more valuable goods.
And again its not complex, theory is simple and as a mortal, regular player, you wont see any of this in the game, only box that you can trade items thru, you wont need to worry about backstage.
Thats what I meant creating this tread. I focused on solution that benefits everybody, which may encourage devs to do something eventually. Like i said, it sums up like this :
"On players side - we get cheaper, more personal trading, with in-game currency, not perfect but better than nothing/ this artificial token-wall .
IMC/Nexon or whatever - people stop complaining, there is still incentive to buy tokens, you get another gold sink in the game. "
Easier yes but it wont solve the problem. There is no perfect system to prevent people from buying items for real money tho. But we need to find ways to cripple their options, here for example its adressed by making items soulbound, so they cannot pass it further. Other features of said Vending Box are adressing both players AND DEVS desires and needs, thats why i think its better than previous propositions.
It is not being better or not. Free players get to have their trade, token players get the benefits of personal shop in exchange of making the 1:1 trade into default feature.
