I searched for anyone else asking this but didn’t find any.
Simple question, will the server reset all our characters and stuff after the iOBT ends? if so, i think i will wait untill release date T.T

This was asked in the iOBT announcement thread, no official reply yet. However, kOBT did not wipe, so hopefully iOBT will not wipe.

Generally data from obts reset before launch, but in this case it probably will not. Korean ToS obt did not reset characters when transitioning to full launch.
I dont beleive they have 100% confirmed though. It may depend if a game breaking bug is encountered or not.
obts usually don’t get wipe… but it still depends on imc if they’ll wipe or not.

I’m not entirely sure. Usually progress doesn’t reset when a game comes into open-beta, but I think we would need a staff member to confirm. I’ve never seen anything to imply that progress was reset.
Any comment on this?
Early access don’t get wiped i have only ever participated in 1 maybe 2 OBTs that didn’t get wiped. The majority i have experienced have. But i hope they do wipe it.

I’ve been in a fair bit of OBTs and have never seen a wipe. I suppose the reasoning would be something along the lines that everyone can join an OBT so no one will have the advantage that comes from an early start.
OBTs can also last a very long time, and honestly, the longer they last the worse of an idea it becomes to wipe.
In all my experience with MMOs, OBTs are essentially launches with a beta stamp put on it so if there are any bugs/issues people will be less liable to complain since “it’s still in beta”
Of course, it is entirely up to them. There could be a wipe, I personally don’t see the reason to ever wipe an OBT unless there were massive, sweeping bug abuses and what not. In which case, the game probably shouldn’t have gone into OBT to begin with.
OBT’s is considered as launch in the mmo genre, so no wipe
no, but i think they will launch a new server when the game is complete

We are not, still waiting for the open beta.
I don’t think they will wipe since ToS is a free game, therefore the OBT is more or less the actual “release” of the game. I wouldn’t mind if they did though.
