Pretty much the title, i’m curious because if the give us new classes, they will probably finish with only one or two circles.
It’s possible to go over rank 10 if they really intend to stop at level 600. They could also add more rank without raising level cap but have to grind more job exp.
well in a Q&A a whole back they presented 3 options
Rank 8 being the last rank and new classes would be added in 8 and below (obviously not happening as they announced rank 9)
Rank 10 being max with new ranks added each rank
Rank 10 being max but rank 8 being the last time new ranks are introduced.
So basically we don’t know as they haven’t given us anything more then rank 9 end of this year.
They can also add hidden 1-circle classes.
We do know of class costumes in the database that haven’t been used yet such as luchador and pied piper, so it 'll probably be this option. Unless they’re planning another 4 hidden classes in each base class or perhaps they’re costumes that they’ll release at some point.
Sounds like people are misunderstanding me.
They said if they selected the following method
It would mean the class tree getting wider rather than longer. It means any new class added would be a 1circle hidden or 3 circle classes but introduced at rank 1-8, NOT 9 or 10.
That would also be cool.
i hope its the last option with new classes being added rank 9 and 10
if the class only got added rank 1-8 there wouldn’t be enough space to fit anything…
My guess would be Rank 9 will only have 2 circle and R10 will only have 1 circle
R8 is the last one to have a circle 3. When R10 come out.
Personally i would prefer rank 8 be the last time we see new ranks. My skill bars are already getting over loaded, they can only make the skill tree so long before it becomes a problem. Look at ff14 they just had to remove a bunch of skills because things were getting to messy.
Going down the same route as Ragnarok’s transcendent classes is also another option that is probably on the table and undecided right now.
Would give them an opportunity to completely rebalance classes in the game while also adding “new” content in the form of higher-tier versions of the existing classes.
It would be cool if they did a “Chaplain” for all the classes in the rank 9 and 10 were you need a 3 ranks in a class to unlock. The ranks 7 and 8 classes would get their circle 3 in that range.
I am thinking about the option that rank 9-10 are to finish the current rank 8 circle 1-2 classes like mergen, hacka or cannoneer 2. For other classes, players can try to add more circles or get older classes to fill their build. Like A2 R3 SR3 can get appraiser and rogue, A2 R2 appraiser sr3 can get R3.
It is a question about the Commercialization Value and the Balancing Compatibility.
I’m sure they will release Rank 9, Rank 10 or even Rank11 above with new classes but maybe job level different.
The content is designed up to lv600, even at rank10 we probably at lv430 only so there is still room to change, it just that IMC will be indecisive due to the impact of the content and complication of balancing issue. Too many classes and skills are not good things in ToS, it will be out of handling like we are facing now.
Lastly, i don’t think those costumes we have seen will be finalize as new classes, it could be change to new class by scrapping it, or they are just hidden classes.
Rank transcendence
/202020
I think IMC should release all non hidden classes already this year and by so they can focus on polishing and balancing the damn game. After that IMC could keep on adding new more and more hidden classes players to make alts. Or IMC want to farm more shekels introduce premium classes.
An interview on April 2016:
- There are 12 rank classes planned, if they all will be implemented or some will be discard is to be evaluated as the game progresses.
- There are 20 hidden classes planned, same criteria as above.
- Sheperd was mentioned to be a Rank 9 class. Note that on this same interview Mergen was confirmed to be a Rank 8 class.
Additional note: I forgot to save the source lol, but it was bring again a few months ago on a ktos board as a “1 year reminder” of it. And to notice how many of the objective points on that interview have been met.
Edit: found the link thanks to discord search feature lol

Also seems it was Rank11 not 12, sorry about that.
Quick google translate helped:
Date: 2016-04-23 - Summary on the Interview on the IMC vicepresident
- Mergen is rank 8
- Sheperd is rank 9. Shinobi was planned to be rank 10 but then moved to rank 7.
- Falconers are based of falcon hunting tradition from korea
- Its planned to release 20 hidden classes in the 11 ranks and 500 levels available.
- Higher ranks than 11 can be developed depending on the game longevity.
- Then there is talking about cultures mentioned on tos …
@Awoooo This is the summary of the interview sadly xD, i wasnt here back then so i don’t know if that interview was recorded somewhere.

Unfortunately that link is taking me to a page that doesn’t have an article on it, but a long list. Could you re-link? Or screenshot?
Feel like rank 12 would be the sweet spot, since you could complete 4 full circles at C3 if you invest in the main class, though I guess it would leave rank 11 at C2 and rank 12 at C1, unless rank 12 are some sort of ultimate ranks that are only C1 and powerful, otherwise the loop is never going to end lol (unless they don’t release new classes and just complete the circles of all classes to C3).
Though I hope they make lvling way easier by then, can’t imagine myself grinding multiple chars to 600 just to try out different classes lol.
200 Level Limit After CBT, the next CBT was planned to be at the 400 level limit.
Now |'m wondering, which info is older.
