Will like to have your opinions

Hi all,

Will like to have some of your constructive opinions for the below build and answer some of my questions. By the way, I will use 2-handed sword all the way.

  1. Will my build work well in both PVE and PVP?

  2. And please correct me if my understanding is wrong. For instance, Str 9:1 Con, it actually means that for every 9 points I pumped into my Str, I will add 1 point to my Con

  3. If I wish to pursue a stat build of Str 4 : Dex 1 : Con 1. Is it feasible? Can i still delivery good dmg but at the same time, survive with decent evasion and critical rate (I heard highlander’s passive gives critical rate for 2-handed swords). Can this stats build work in both PVE and PVP?

Thanks & best regards,

  1. PvP and PvE builds are vastly different 90% of the time, so odds are it won’t work for both. Based on what everyone says, swordsman classes aren’t very good for PvP currently.
As for PvE? The build should be fine.

  2. Your understanding is correct. 9:1 would mean placing 9 points into strength, then 1 point into con, then another 9 in strength.

  3. From evasion tests I’ve seen, just placing 47~ points into dex won’t do you any good for evasion. Also, magical attacks can’t be ‘evaded’.
Highlanders passive gives, at max 50% critical ATTACK. Not to be confused with critical rate.
Critical rate is your chance to land a critical attack. This goes up with DEX.
A critical attack does 50% more damage + your critical attack value. Critical attack goes up with STR.
(Stats are almost an all or nothing decision, either most of your points need to be in DEX, or most need to be in STR. It’s generally not good to split 3-ways)

Conclusion? Swordsmen classes are currently in a funny place end-game. However, if you want to play a 2-handed melee class. You won’t be disappointed.

P.S
I’ve heard that Highlander’s Sky Liner attack is getting nerfed. It currently has no cooldown. They will be adding a cooldown to it. I don’t know how long.
Hope this was helpful. :grinning:

Thanks for your infomation.

I heard the PVP is pretty broken.

But, is there gem or whatsoever that can be added to the equipment to increase the critical rate.

Also, Can I use Gung Ho and DOV at the same time?

Yes.

Seeing as it doesn’t specifically say it can’t be used at the same time. I would say yes, you can.

15 seconds.

But it will also get 2 hits and 3 Overheat stacks.

So theoretically, I can stack concentrate + gungho + DOV, am I right to say that?

While trying more builds by using the simulator, I am confused with certain things. Hope to receive some clarification from you guys. Thanks in advance.

  1. If I go for the Hoplite build, inevitable, my rank 2 will be Peltasta. By browsing through other threads, people recommended to add at least one SP to Guardian, However, according to the description of the skill, Guardian is not able to be used with Gungho concurrently. If I have decided to add Gungho, what is the point of having Guardian? Is it still advisable to pump that 1 SP into it?

  2. My ideal Hoplite build will be Swordsman 1 > Peltasta 1 > Hoplite 3 > Corsair 2 or Doppel 2. However, I’m in a dillemma for my last two ranks. Which will be the better choice? (in both party and solo, PVP can be ignored since it is broken)
My consideration is that, on one hand, Doppel will have the skill DOV, which provides a huge boost in sheer attack power, but corsair also contains all the utility skills which can be proven useful. I will most likely stick with 1 hand spear.

bro… take a look at the guides in this forum, cus u ddint even get cross cut, and thats derp

You can, but Concentrate and Gungho are both rather lackluster at higher levels. Especially if you are only one rank of Swordsman. While their combined damage is fine for the early levels later on when mobs have thousands of HP that extra 30ish per hit will be barely noticeable.

The reason to take Guardian is not for its own buffs but for its attribute. When you have Guardian active and its attribute is max you increase your evasion by 18%. Even the damage reduction from Guardian will be rather small compared to that increase in evasion, especially if you are dex heavy.

Both Doppel and Corsair will give you a good chunk of damage with Doppel coming out on top. You have to ask yourself if you want the utility that Corsair provides. Both of them will be viable so it might just come down to which outfit you like better.

But if i’m going for Hoplite 3, I shouldn’t have much problem with my Crit rate. Therefore, I might go for full str build. From what I know, dex is the main attribute for evasion. In that case, my evasion will be really low. Will that 18% still matters?

If you are going full STR it really wouldn’t matter and you could probably just drop Guardian without any worry.

Alright. Thanks for the info.
