Well, I have a very strange problem here…
EVERY time I launch the game (directly or using steam) my wifi signal just fades away, it directly affects my network card. When i close the game, the wifi reapears and everything is fine.
Anyone with the same problem?
Ty in advance.
System specs and OS would help too, what you have running on the background? Anti-virus (stand alone or Suite)? Where is the router, is there something in the way (TV, mirror, microwave, etc)?
Hi there Nirimetus, ty for replying ^^
currently running the game in Dell ultrabook Vostro 5470 with intel i5 4200 @ 1.6ghz windows 10 and 8Gb RAM/ Nvidea Geforce GT 740M 2gb. I use only windows defender as anti virus. There’s a single wall between me and the router but it never showed anything like this before with any kind of games, signal is almost full here. T.T
Things to consider since you are using a laptop:
- Set the laptop power management mode to High Performance. (How to)
- Check if the game is not being blocked by the firewall. (the files you should look are: Steam\steamapps\common\TreeOfSavior\release\patch\tos.exe and Steam\steamapps\common\TreeOfSavior\release\Client_tos.exe)
- Update your drivers from component’s manufacturers. (Explanation down bellow)
- Check for windows Updates.
- Check for router firmware updates. (This is different from models and manufacturers, you have to get the model and manufacturer from yours and search on the web, in case of insecurity on doing this, call a technician to do it for you)
About the driver update i mentioned, there are 2 sources for it:
- From the laptop/PC assembler website. (in your case Dell)
- From the components manufacturer website.
In the case of number 2, you can ask for a technician to do it for you if you don’t know how to.
Hello and thanks again for replying Niri-san!
I did a driver update using driver booster and using dell updates as well when i could find them.
The 1st thing I saw when the problem came up was the firewall exception list.
It looks like a compatibility problem with my router as I tried to use other wifi networks and none of them have the same problem.
I still can’t play using my own network and tbh i won’t bother with it. Since the game is still so poorly rendered in many aspects, i guess i’ll just use my 4g cellphone network to play.
Yeah, some routers have problems on that aspect, i am not sure if it is some kind of overflow during negotiations or buffering, what i can suggest is:
- Upgrade the router Firmware.
- Test with another router if you can find one spare.
Tbh, the second choice is more safe.
Is the router you got there your own or it is provided by your ISP?
